Arts Charities That specialise in Theatre

The Staveley Roundhouse is a small cultural centre which provides facilities for music and drama and the arts. It is open to all people and there are regular performances of plays, musical events such as jazz concerts and classical music, educational talks on a wide range of topics and an annual art exhibition showing the work of local artists.

The IWMDDF was established to advance, promote & encourage the study & practice of the arts of music, dance, speech & drama. It aims to introduce new classes to the festival, encouraging those of all abilities to enter. If funds allow, it would also like to highlight exceptionally talented students & provide them with opportunities to perform at other events, such as federation summer schools.

To educate the public in the operatic, dramatic and musical arts, in the pursuit of which two and sometimes three shows are produced each year for performance in public.

The Village Hall is used by the local community and wider area for meetings, parties etc. We hold fundraising events such as teas to raise money to maintain and improve the Hall to keep it in use. We are parts of Arts out West and bring a variety of theatre, music and comedy acts out into the local area.

Wicor Primary School Association organises fund raising activities for the school such as summer and Christmas fayres, school discos, and other social events to raise money to buy extra things for the school that would not be possible from their budget from the education authority, eg music instruments, travelling theatre company, children's christmas gift, playtrail equipment

The Hall is used for the benefit of the village. All village associations use the Hall, Youth Club, Scouts, Playtime, Bowls, Art, WI, Zumba, Pilates, Martial Arts, Theatrical Society, Gardening Association, History Society. Parish Council meetings are also held in the Hall, together with National Associations because of the Hall's geographical position.

The hall is used for Indoor Bowls, Childrens Club, Whist Drives, private parties, dinners, discussion groups, Village Enhancement fundraising, Church eg Harvest Festival supper, also theatre group proffessional use it once a year. It is also hired out by various sporting clubs particularly in the summer eg cyclists.It has all facilities for the diabled.

Craft, Drama, Book Groups, Skittles, Walks, Table Tennis, Outings, Produce Groups and Art Group. Members help provide a third Sunday lunch and a first Friday lunch. Cakes and Jams for Macmillan Coffee morning and other charities. Large entry at New Forest Show. Knitted items for Samaritans Purse Shoeboxes. Strong support for Village Community Centre; members take part in Christmas Pantomime.

Amateur Dramatics- straight plays, musicals and pantomimes, staged variously at the Compass Theatre, Ickenham, and the Winston Churchill Hall, Ruislip. The pantomime always has one performance that is free to local deserving groups. Club members also act as unpaid volunteers to run the facilities at the Compass Theatre. The Club is a member of the Hillingdon Arts Association & NODA.

To run the Bristol Festival of Music Speech & Drama, an annual event of artistic participation, competitions and workshops in music, speech and drama.

THE CHARITY ENCOURAGES THE PARTICIPATION AND FURTHERS THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE ARTS OF MUSIC, SPEECH AND DRAMA. THE CHARITY HOLDS A FESTIVAL COMPETITION EACH YEAR IN CLASSES COVERING CHORAL, INSTRUMENTAL, PIANO, SPEECH AND VOCAL SKILLS AND PROMOTES THE ANNUAL WOKING YOUNG MUSICIAN COMPETITION CONCERT.

To help the children within our school by purchasing outdoor equipment and other additional equipment such as music. Have theatre groups visit the school eg Young Shakespeare Co. Provide a Christmas party.

The Hall is used for community led activities including sales, sports, Bridge Club, charity events, meetings including AGM's, cinema, theatrical and musical performances, and parties both adult & childrens.

Hire of the Town Hall Building to various local organisations - i.e. Youth groups, Drama group, W.I.,Toddlers group, Ballet, School Coffee Mornings, Pre-School, Town Council, Various Exercise groups, etc.

Production of plays and other drama; courses in drama; promote the enjoyment of drama by the local population.

Provides a platform for children/young people to perform song, dance, speech & drama in competition with their peers with professional adjudication.

The advancement of education in the arts for the benefit of the public and in particular the arts of drama, mime, dance, singing, and music by supporting the principal charity, the Gloucestershire Everyman Theatre Company Ltd, by providing, furnishing and equipping new buildings, preserving and improving the Theatre, and providing financial support for its charitable objects and activities.

In association with the Union Films of Southampton University Students Union, The Phoenix (Southampton Film Theatre) periodically shows a wide range of films to subscribing members of the general public and members of Union Films. Its aims are to provide entertainment, to encourage an appreciation of the medium of film and to promote the use of film as a record of contemporary life.
