Scouting and Guiding

Local village scout group with Squirrel, Beaver, Cub and Scout sections doing a variety of scouting activities indoors and out

Scouting activities for girls and boys from the age of 4 to 15 years.

Beavers, Cubs and Scout Groups for 6 - 14 year olds

Delivery of Scouting, as part of The Scout Association, within the Barugh, Barugh Green, Mapplewell and surrounding areas of Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

The trustees maintain and repair the village well. In accordance with the terms of their appointment the trustees permit an annual Well Dressing Festival to take place. Surplus money goes to the work on the well and also to support local young people's organisations like the sunday schools, the girl guides, the brownies, the scouts and the cubs and others

General fund raising to assist local, national and international charities. Support is given to disasters overseas (Tsunami for example), to local hospices, day centres for the elderly, youth work (Scouts and Guides etc).

Scouting for young people aged 6 years to 13 years

Sandgate Scout Group

We give grants to young people under the age of 25 for any educational needs they may have. These could be in the field of sports, arts, apprenticeship equipment, school trips and further and higher education expenses. The applicants must live in Beverley or surrounding area and/or go or have been to Beverley schools. We also give grants to organisations which deal with young people such as scouts

Furthering of training & activities in scouting.

Scout group, providing recreational and educational facilities for children from the ages of 6 to 15, together with the maintenance of the scout hut in Claverham
