The Petersfield Lions Club supports children and young people, elderly people, people with disabilities, and the general public and mankind. The Club makes grants to individuals, organisations, provides finance to support other charities, provides services to other charitable organisations and the wider community [ i,e the town of Petersfield and surrounding area financed by fundraising.

Organises fund raising events for charitable purposes

To distribute income for any purpose which is charitable acording to the law of England and Wales whether for the benefit of any individual, or group of people, or for the benefit of any other organisation established for charitable purposes.

Raising funds to promote activities for young people such as Youth speaks debates ,disabled sports and R.Y.L.A courses.Also arranging events for our senior citizens including christmas day lunch for those otherwise alone.Also responding to individual requests for support from needy persons.

The relief of the poor and those in need by reason of youth, age,ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage or such other charitable purposes as the Rotary Club of Wokingham (The Club) shall in duly constituted meetings from time to time direct.

RAISE MONIES TO SUPPORT LOCAL NEEDY GROUPS SUCH AS MENTALLY ANDPHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED,SCHOOLS,AGED,CHURCH AND YOUTH IN LOCAL AREA.ALSO TO CONTRIBUTE FINANCIAL HELP TO AREAS ABROAD FOLLOWING DISASTERS,AND TO HELP SUPPORT SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES .

From fundraising we try and help those in need in our local area, We pride ourselves that every penny raised goes to those causes.

Raise funds for local. international and Rotary charities

Organisation of charity events (eg. golf day, entertainment events, street collection, etc) to raise money for local, national and international charities. Youth activities: Youth Speaks, Young Chef, Young Photographer, Christmas Story competitions, School Reading Partners, etc. Organisation of Tenterden Town Carol service and Town Christmas Tree. Providing volunteer support to other charities.

We raise funds for the relief of poor and needy or for such other charitable purposes as directed by the Rotary Club in duly constituted meeting.We support and give donations to causes of an international, national or local nature particularly those beneficiaries who are children/young people, elderley or those with disabilities and medical and health problems.

Making donations to charities, voluntary bodies, institutions and other organisations for the benefit of local & international projects with particular emphasis on assisting the disadvantaged and the elderly. The club have supported a project in Sierra Leone to build a village. This finished in the autumn of 2011.

A worldwide association of local clubs for men and women in business or the professions who provide humanitarian service to the community at local, national and international level encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and work for goodwill and peace in the world.

Our income is raised from local fundraising events and from members donations. We support local charities-the elderly locally-the young locally and local people with disabilities. We also make small donations to national charities who provide speakers at our meetings. We make donations to rotary charities.

We aim to raise funds for distribution to selected charities and for other charitable projects. We select beneficiaries annually during the spring period but retain minor funds fur appeals received which are of an urgent nature. Our fund raising is conducted by holding social and sponsored events, and by taking part in local public activities.

Part of the world's largest service organisation, Lions Clubs International, we raise funds locally through various events and make grants to those in need in the areas of Gillingham & Shaftesbury in Dorset and Mere in Witshire, together with grants to Lions Clubs International appeals.See www.lions.org.uk

General fund raising including an annual Xmas Float to provide funds to support local,international and Rotary projects and Charities.

The Club (Benevolent Fund) is a part of the Rotary International Movement, and acts within the principles and activities accordingly.
