Responding to direct approaches from local applicants, or in cooperation with social services and other organisations, the Trust can assist in deserving cases. It also responds to appeals for assistance following national disasters, and similar events around the world, to try to relieve distress and hardship.

Provision of "hands on" help for the benefit of deserving groups within the vicinity of Cardiff West. Fundraising in order to provide financial support to deserving groups in the local community, to support the Rotary Programme to eradicate polio and to support various national and international good causes.

Relief of suffering and poverty and support of other registered charities

To provide financial support for rotary charities and selected local charities also helps overseas appeals and charities as approved by club council and agreed by the membership of the rotary club.

Our motto is 'We Serve',Bracknell Forest Lions Club run a variety of fundraising event over the year to raise money for worthwhile causes in the Borough of Bracknell Forest.

To raise funds and to disburse them to those people and organisations specified below.

We support local, national and international charity groups to help with their financing of activities for people in their community; and local students seeking to add to the funds that they have already received for studying or activities they wish to pursue at home or abroad. We also support the cost of supplies being sent to areas where disasters have occurred at home or abroad.

We are a charity with general charitable purposes, we fund raise to enable us to support people and organisations within our community and also to help with areas of great need abroad. These take many forms such as our Sight Appeal, Dementia Aid, fitting out a hospital ward for the parents to be able to stay when they sadly lose a child. We are a service organisation, helping out where needed.

The charity income is raised from various sources, e.g. a sponsored walk, bucket collections and a nunber of other events and donations. A town quiz was held again and we assisted in providing marshals at a local Air show.

We continue to raise funds principally by selling or recycling donated pre-owned books, DVDs, CDs and LPs. Our charitable work is concentrated mainly on local projects but we also support a limited number of international charities, some of which are organised by Lions Club International and some by our own contacts.
