Girlguiding Bournemouth South follows the Girlguiding programme and gives girls and women a safe space where they can be themselves through adventures, having fun, building friendships and gain valuable life skills. We give them an opportunity to fulfil their potential and make a positive difference in their lives and communities and confidence for future challenges.

Oxshott Girlguiding Units are part of Girlguiding UK the largest charity for girls and young women giving girls and young women a space to discover and grow enabling them to find their voice and make a positive difference in the world. We deliver an exciting diverse girl-led programme of activities facilitated by trusted adults in our meetings.

We run six units, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, from our Scout Hut in Mitcham. The children attend weekly meetings where they work towards badges which help to make them aware of their environment and to care for others. Camping and fund-raising are among the many activities in which the children are involved.

Small grants are given to people in need who live in the Benefice of Badgeworth, Witcombe and Shurdington. These needs may arise through, for example, illness, accidents or sudden death of wage-earners in families. The Welfare Trust may give one-off grants to worthy causes for specific things such as equipment for young peoples' groups e.g. scouts, guides, cubs and playgroups.

Programme of weekly meetings and other events for Rainbows (5-7yrs), Brownies (7 - 10yrs), Guides (10 - 14yrs) and Rangers (14+), all led by trained volunteers.

Scouting

The purpose of Scouting is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

Girlguiding UK

1st Hawkhurst Beavers, Cubs and Scouts provides fun learning and outdoor activities for local children. Putting an acquired skill or skills into action. Experience a sense of belonging. Nurtures self-esteem. Exercise resourcefulness. Exemplify teamwork. Share responsibility. Feel successful. Learn a life lesson.

Girls work through a programme, which has been designed to further the girls social and development skills, along with outdoor activities and residential experiences.

SCOUTING

To pursue the objectives of the Guide Association concerned with assisting girls and young women to fulfil their potential to take an active and responsible role in society.

We are based in Rye Park area of Hoddesdon. We do various scouting activities for boys and girls aged 5 3/4 to 15 years cover Beavers, Cubs and Sea Scouts.

Support Guiding & Scouting activities within the Rhyl area by means of small grants which are applied for by individual groups.

UNIFORMED ORGANISATION FOR GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN - GIRLGUIDING LITTLEPORT DISTRICT SUPPORTS THE WORK OF VOLUNTEER ADULT LEADERS IN PROVIDING A VARIED PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG MEMBERS AGED 5-18

Following Girlguiding Activities and Scout Association Activities as prescribed within the relevant manuals of the organisations.

Owns land used by young people, and the local Scout Group in particular, which it provides free of charge

To promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities in accordance with the Policy Organisation and Rules of the Scout Association.

Development Physically, mentally, and spiritrally through providing Scouting and Guiding to Young People between the ages of 6 years - 18 years old.

Games Room, Training/meeting room User Groups/Activities, Childrens Activities, Snooker/Pool/Table Tennis, Bingo, Scouts, private hire, table top sales and summer play scheme

It helps with the running of units within the Guide Association, such as Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Senior Section and the support of Adult Leaders.
