The provision of Scouting activities to young people in the Hallow (West Worcester) area.

The maintenance and provision of the Scout Hall in Crofton, Orpington, Kent for use of the Crofton Scouts, Guides and associated groups.

Provision of Scouting Activities for boys and girls

Affiliated to the Scout Association, 1st Dursley Scout Group provides a programme of badge work, a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, inter-personal skill and personal development activities from the age of 4 years, through Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts aged 14.5 years.

THE GROUP IS A UNIT OF THE SCOUT ASSOCIATION WHICH PROMOTES DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN ACHIEVING THEIR FULL PHYSICAL, INTELLECTUAL, SOCIAL & SPIRITUAL POTENTIALS, AS INDIVIDUALS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS & MEMBERS OF THEIR LOCAL, NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES. WE PROVIDE AN ENJOYABLE & ATTRACTIVE SCHEME OF PROGRESSIVE TRAINING, BASED ON THE SCOUT PROMISE & LAW, GUIDED BY ADULT LEADERSHIP.

The primary objective of the Group is to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society. The main activities of the Group are the provision of the Scouting programme for 6 to 14 year olds in New Ash Green, Kent and the immediate surrounding locality.

Variety of indoor and outdoor activities and training to promote the development of young people in achieving their full potential.

Providing Scouting activities for children aged 6-8 - Beavers; for children 8-11 - Cubs; for children ages 11 -14 - Scouts; and older children 14-18 Explorer Scouts. These activities can be water based - e.g swimming and canoeing: camping - a number of times during the year for most age groups. There are also the weekly meetings where the leaders organise indoor and outdoor activities.

The Trustees will make grants, at their discretion, in support of the Reserves and Cadets of the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, as provided by the charitable purposes of the CIO.

We work with young people aged 10-18, through skill building and sporting activities we aim to promote self discipline, team work, team responsibilities, respect for others, pride in personal presentation (appearance and behaviour), self-esteem and self respect. We also aim to equip them for adulthood with the values and standards needed for good citizenship.

As a good scout group we are working with boys and girls giving them a wide range of skills and experiences; e.g. camping, canoeing, hiking; large and small group activities; on site and away; indoors and out, looking to develop independant and able adults.

Training young people

The WGC (ST Francis Scout) Scout group, currently runs 2, beaver packs for 6-8 year old Children, 2, Cub packs for 8-10 year old childen and 2 Scout groups for 10-15 year old children. We have in the region of 150 children attending these groups. Usual team building and educational activities including camping and helping the Church's charity fund raising activities.

THE GROUP OPERATES BEAVER, CUB AND SCOUT SECTIONS, FOR YOUNG CHILDREN AGED 6 TO 14 YEARS, OFFERING WIDE RANGE OF INDOOR AND OUTDOOR BASED ACTIVITIES.
