Fully participated in the principles of Scouting, outdoor and indoor activities ages 6 to 18. Additional fund raising, Annual Race Night. Group events have been very successful. The aim is to fund an equipment replacement and to look towards developing our headquarters.

TRAINING AND ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 10 - 18, BASED ON A NAUTICAL THEME. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE WATERBORNE SPORTS, FIRST AID, CAMPCRAFT AND A RANGE OF SPECIALIST SKILLS

The group provides scouting activities to children and young people in the villages of Fair Oak and Horton Heath. The group runs a beaver colony, cub pack and scout troop. A full range of weekly activities is provided in school term times, together with regular outdoor pursuits and camps

To provide a well maintained and comfortable building for scouts, cubs, beavers, guides, brownies and rainbows to meet in. To provide a resource for the community to use to carry out group activities for the benefit of the whole community.

Scouting for boys and girls aged between 5-16. Young leaders and explorers unit also attached to group. Guidance, mentoring, outdoor activities, sports, competitions, fund raising, camping, badge activity.

WE PROVIDE INSTRUCTION IN A WIDE VARIETY OF SUBJECTS AND AID YOUNG PEOPLE GAIN QUALIFICATIONS IN AREAS THAT INTEREST THEM. WE TEACH THEM LEADERSHIP SKILLS , TEAM WORK AND WORK ETHICS. WE HELP THEM BECOME USEFUL, RESPONSABLE MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY AND SOC. WE TAKE 10 TO 18 YEAR OLDS FROM TOWNS AND VILLAGES CLOSE TO LOUGHBOROUGH. WE PROVIDE THEM WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO GO AWAY AT REDUCED PRICES.

The purpose of scouting is to promote the development of young people (girls & boys) in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

Providing scouting activities for young people from the age of 4. Running weekly groups for, Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers, ensuring young people have the opportunity to take part in various Scouting activities and badge work.

The aim of the Scout Association is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. This is done by providing a scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law, and guided by adult leadership.

The 3rd Waltham Abbey Scout Group consist of one explorer unit (controlled by the district), two scout troops, two scout parks and two beaver colonies. The hall is also hired out to 1 girl guide section, 3 brownies sections and 1 rainbow section.
