Established in 1986, The Soup Kitchen is a resource for the homeless, elderly, lonely and vulnerable in London. We provide free nutritious meals, clothing and unprecedented mental health support to nearly 150 people each day in London. We aim to tackle some of the core issues of homelessness in an environment that is welcoming to everyone.

Our Mission is to improve the life chances of everyone we serve and to build resilience through our programmes and engagements. We do this through health based initiatives including a foodbank, one to one support work, counselling & focused work for women, men and older people. Bramley Elderly Action (BEA) provides a broad range of preventative health activities for local elders with the help of over 140 volunteers - many of whom are local older people. Older Wiser Local Seniors (OWLS) is part of BEA, providing activities for elders living in the adjacent Headingley, Burley, Hyde Park and Kirkstall area. OWLS is helped by almost 40 volunteers.

Provision of homes for single occupation for the elderly at affordable rents

The charity provide a community nursery, including Nursery Education Funded places for 2 year old and 3.- 4 year old children. They also provide out of school childcare both during school term and holiday times.The charity provides services to elderly people, in the form of meals and activities which support social inclusion, health and well being.

Management of eight almshouses. Accommodating elderly people who wish to downsize or need a home.

Supports members of English Province and Sisters of wider Congregation of the Daughters of Jesus, together with the various works they undertake, at home and abroad. In the English Province, this includes pastoral care of the elderly, the isolated and those in need, as well as the advancement of the Roman Catholic religion through the Sisters' witness of their life and prayer together in community
