The main activity of the Ambrose Allen Charity is the provision of a building for the use of elderly residents. Examples of groups that use the Ambrose Allen Centre are Loddon Valley Day Care which provides respite care and the Lunch Club which provides a hot two course meal once a week for the elderly.

Norton-in-the-Moors Miners Welfare provides facilities and open space for community groups from a wide catchment area within Stoke on Trent. Lansdowne is a Church based in West Norwood, London serving and working with the local community by sharing the love of God with them. The church has various ministries including an art group, a mothers and toddlers group, coffee mornings, offering support for families, youth and the elderly. The charity acts as a community centre catering mainly for the elderly and children of African-Caribbean origin or descent with the Borough of Brent and neighbouring boroughs.

The Centre provides resource support to primarily but not exclusively African Caribbean voluntary, community & faith sector organisations and individuals living in the London Borough of Newham and its environs. The premises are used by:-A Pre-School Play Group, Theatrical Society, Ballet Classes for ages 4 to Adult, Mixed Badminton, Ladies Badminton, Modern Dance Classes, Young People's Modern Dance Classes, Tea Dances, Old Time Dancing, Theatre Dance Classes and Scottish Country Dancing, Pilates, Fitness Sessions, Strength & Balance and Aerobics for the over 50's (NHS Project).

The trust applies income for general charitable purposes at the discretion of the trustees, awarding grants to other charities for people with disabilities, the elderly/ old people, youth, medical research and environmental heritage.

Provision of weekday cooked lunches to senior citizen members of the RNOFA with additional social activities, on and off club premises.

Provision of accessible, reasonably-priced accommodation (formerly referred to as 'Almshouses') for older people in Bishop's Stortford. The Charity does not provide 'care', and Residents either live independently or make their own arangements with family or Social Services if support is needed.
