VAR provides support services to the voluntary and community groups/organisations within the borough. THE SOCIETY'S ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ORGANISATION AND SPONSORSHIP OF CONFERENCES; THE PUBLICATION AND DISSEMINATION OF SCIENTIFIC LITERATURE; EDUCATION, CAREERS AND POLICY WORK; THE ADMINISTRATION OF TRAVEL GRANTS; MEMBERSHIP TO EXPERIMENTAL BIOLOGY RESEARCHERS.

The object of the charity is the education of the public in the arts in West Berkshire and the surrounding districts.
