FSO aims to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music by the presentation of public concerts and recitals and by such other means as the society, shall determine from time to time. The society aims to provide a high standard of orchestral and performance opportunities for amateur musicians from Finchley and surrounding areas.

Distribution of vouchers to elderly and disabled in need to assist them in payment of fuel bills and grants to organisations who assist these client groups.

The Foundation operates as a grant making organisation in the areas of poverty relief and education in less developed and developing nations mainly. Occasionally we assist UK based charities, primarily involved in the welfare and well being of children and in the emergency services sector.

Collections in Tavistock at Christmas, at Goose Fair annually, most years a Golf tournament at Tavistock Golf Club in May.The Shelterbox Trust is supported, there is an annual dinner for senior citizens,supporting dementia campaign,organising "Youth Speaks" for local schools etc, help afforded when possible to local good causes and overseas disasters.

The Thirtle Harvey Memorial Home holds investments and makes grants to other charities, in particular, Hastings and Rother Voluntary Association for the Blind.

Making grants to other charities and institutions.

The MVM Charitable Trust operates as a grant-making charity providing financial support to other charities, voluntary bodies and invividuals for general charitable purposes.

Promoting the ringing of church bells to call people to worship. Providing grants for restoring, maintaining, improving or preserving church bells in Sussex for ringing in churches. Providing training and skill development grants to young people learning change ringing on tower or hand bells. Encouraging the recruitment and training of all ringers and advancing the art of change ringing.

The charity provides some of the land and buildings on which the King Edward V1 College operates.The charity has limited resources but will consider small grants to assist persons resident in the locality in pursuance of educational projects at home and overseas.

Making grants to accepted beneficiaries

The Trustee may relieve those eligible by making grants, paying for or providing goods or services or making grants to other persons or bodies who provide such goods, services or facilities.In exceptional circumstances the trustee may decide to assist someone (who must otherwise be qualified) who is resident outside the area of benefit or only temporory resident in the area of benefit.

The charity raises funds to provide grants and interest free loans to members of the Federation of Zionist Youth participating in the movements year course programmes in Israel and educational activities in the UK. The trustees own the building that acts as headquarters for the Federation of Zionist Youth and provide these premises on a rent-free basis.

The Charity manages Ashmeadow Woodlands in the village of Arnside. It comprises of mixed woodland, orchards, a walled garden and allotments. It is open to the public and has a number of footpaths with seats and interpretation boards. When finances permit the Charity offers grants to local groups, or individuals, for anything that will further the aims of the Charity.

The trust provides grants not normally exceeding ?300 to persons resident in Bournemouth and the County of Dorset who in the opinion of the trustees are in reduced and necessitous circumstances and the need is not provided for through state funding.

Makes grants to Long Lane Primary School.

Grants to organisations linked to the charity, these organisations consist of military and ex military personnel with close links to "The Rifles". These grants are intended to improve the social wellbeing of organisation members.

LOCAL RETAIL CHARITY SHOP WHO'S PROCEEDS ARE GIVEN TO ELDERLY RESIDENTS OVER 65 IN THE VILLAGE OF RUABON (ANNUALLY).
