The object of the Trust is to advance the education of the public in maritime and coastal archaeology, history, geology and environment by the provision of a museum or museums as is considered necessary.

As a Christian community we share worship through Sunday and mid-week services; learning and growing in housegroups, spiritual formation groups, baptismal, membership and discipleship groups; and serving through a range of mission activities locally and overseas, by running an emergency night shelter for the homeless and through advocacy on behalf of homeless and asylum seekers.

Pendle New Neighbours supports refugees and asylum seekers living in Pendle by: Advice, support, advocacy, interpreting, translating and signposting to other services. English classes (informal ESOL) and other opportunities for learning the language. Trips and visits.Relief of poverty or financial hardship by making small grants.Social and recreational events in the local community.

The Tides Foundation makes grants to UK registered Charities. The Foundation's grant making policy considers operation, governance and financials to donate to various charities.

The trust makes grants for projects, within UK only, to registered charities benefiting physically and mentally disabled. Ongoing & core costs, research & major funding are not favoured. Requests from individuals are not considered. Appeals, which must be accompanied by accounts, are not acknowledged. Trustees meet in March/June/Sept/Dec.
