The income of the Fund is applied to promoting the study and teaching of anthropology. The policy of the Trustees is to devote about half its net income to subsidising exceptional expenditure of the Royal Anthropological Institute. The other half is devoted to an annual research fellowship scheme in association with a UK or Ireland university, known as 'Leach/RAI Fellowships'.

The charity addresses global development issues. It seeks to: Raise awareness of the interconnection between local and international issues, and how our actions affect the world; Educate people of all ages about the issues facing Third World peoples; Support the deprived and Campaign for justice throughout the world through a programme of education, awareness-raising and practical activities

To help those people who misuse alcohol and/or drugs and the friends, relatives and partners affected by someone else's substance misuse through the providision of assessment, advice information, one to one counselling and group support. To improve public education by encouraging early recognition and prevention of alcohol and drug related harm.

Acts as an umbrella organisation for local groups to use the building for their activities. All ages are catered for, from babies and toddlers to over-eighties. The charity has an equal opportunities policy and people of all races and cultures use the facility. As well as classes, the building is used for birthday parties, wedding receptions and meetings.

We are a registered charity located in the Blackdown Hills, on the Somerset/Devon border. We have a network of volunteers across the area offering various social and practical services to local people who are isolated and/or finding life difficult. Services include community transport, disabled access assistance, social groups, volunteer visiting, footcare, advocacy and advice and support.
