The Institute's research aims to provide practical, policy-focused solutions for use by government and the community. It is focused on disadvantaged populations. Its research areas include heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, stroke, critical care and trauma, road injury, fractures, falls, chronic back pain and health care innovation.

Provision of grants to nominated charities as directed by the will of Katherine Martin. The Structure, Governance & Management of the Trust is set out in the Trust Annual Report & Financial Statements, which also disclose its financial performance and position. Trust activities are funded from investment income derived from pooled investment portfolios and its shareholding in unlisted investments.

Guidance, advice and representation covering the city of Wolverhampton and Dudley borough, surrounding areas (for particular specialist legal aid cases, pension guidance, debt advice and most aspects of benefits). Influencing social policy, improving employability, financial capability and energy advice is also offered.

The charity's principle activity throughout the year was the provision and distribution of donations and grants to charities. The charity aims to maximise it's grants and donations on an annual basis.

To provide grants to Guildhall School of Music & Drama to advance the education of students and prospective students of the School in music, drama & production arts and any other object considered to be beneficial to the promotion of music, drama & production arts. To support any charitable purpose in which Guildhall School or any student may engage and promotes music, drama & production arts.

RURAL MEDIA CHARITY COMBINES COMMUNITY AND INFORMAL EDUCATION WITH ARTS AND MEDIA PRODUCTION EXPERTISE TO EMPOWER RURAL COMMUNITIES,PARTICULARLY THOSE MOST DISADVANTAGED. THE RESULTS ARE HIGH-QUALITY PROJECTS AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES THAT GIVE RURAL COMMUNITIES A 'VOICE' AND INFORM POLICY DEVELOPMENT.

Primarily involved in supporting homeless and vulnerable veterans who have served in the British armed forces. Services include the provision of accommodation, social work, alcohol counselling, and advocacy.
