SHEEPDOG TRIALS

Provide financial support to families and their children up to the age of 18 suffering from a brain tumour or any type of childhood cancer attending Ward 6 at Sheffield Childrens Hospital. We raise money by doing fund-raising activities in the UK. We support all attendees of Ward 6 who request funding regardless of their home address.

The Society endevours to promote the production of Dramatic and Operatic arts for the public and educate its members in these arts.

The choir rehearses weekly and performs in public approximately 10 times each year. In so doing we are able to improve the musical knowledge and abilities of our members, foster public appreciation of choral music, and raise money for charitable musical causes.

The purpose of Scouting is to actively engage and support young people in their personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to society.

To provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time with the objective of improving community cohesion and the condition of life for the residents of Thurgoland and its neighbourhood.

Regular public worship open to all; the teaching of Christianity via sermons, Bible studies; taking of assemblies; holding meetings for children and young people with a Christian ethos which are open to all; support for Christian charities at home and overseas.

We are a small charity based in Barnsley, that provides social activities for adults with autism. Through our programme, we promote participation in meaningful and fun activity, nurture wellbeing and social connectivity and help reduce isolation and loneliness for individuals.

A village civic society that also organises and manages a small village museum.

The Trust is constituted to maintain conserve and display to the public the following historical properties: Wortley Top Forge, Rockley Engine House, Rockley Furnace, Bower Spring Cementation Furnace, Hoylandswaine Nail Forge. (All South Yorkshire) There is also a collection of historical engines and other machinery at Wortley. Wortley has working waterwheels and has regular guided tours.

The Charity is a Church part of the Wesleyan Reform Union of Churches. It provides a religious service every Sunday open to everybody. The Church runs a Christian youth activity each Friday open to Children of secondary school age.The Youngster are taken on visits to further their spiritual development. The church holds periodic special events open to the general public.

We are a community centre that offers room space for hire for anyone wishing to hire the centre, the centre is well used and open 7 days each week. The centre is run by volunteers with one part time employee who is the caretaker and he works 20 hours per week.

Samaritans of Barnsley offer a confidential listening service to callers who are experience despair or distress including those feelings that lead to suicide. We do this by telephone, onine chat, email and face to face contact with those who wish to contact us.
