The charity's object and its principal activity is to promote and undertake scientific research in the field of computer science and in particular in logic programming and to disseminate the results of such research and to encourage and develop knowledge and use of the logic programming in all its branches for the benefit of the public.

The PTA Committee members and parents, carers and teachers organise fund-raising activities at Widcombe Infant and Junior Schools involving the children, and their parents and carers. Examples of these activities are an annual summer fair, parent quiz nights, children's discos and non-uniform days.

The Orchestra will general 3 public concerts each year. Concert proceeds may go to another charity (e.g. previously St Peter's Hospice and Save The Children have been chosen). Additionally the Orchestra may provide players from its sections to perform in groups for school musicals and other public events during the course of the year.

The Freshford and District Tennis Club promotes community participation in healthy recreation by the provision of facilities (two all-weather tennis courts and a pavilion/rain shelter) and coaching for playing tennis. The courts are available not only for members, but also for members of the public, upon the payment of a modest fee.
