Organsiation of fund raising activities for children and their parents/carers. Events include Summer Fun day, school discos, Christmas bazaar and Easter events. Evening activies include quiz nights, bingo nights and games evenings. We also raise funds by recycling clothes.

To improve the self confidence and self esteem of socially and/or economically disadvantaged young people by providing horse riding lessons.

The Charity was formed to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. The group holds weekly meetings for Beaver Scouts, Cub scouts, Scouts and Explorer scouts where they can pursue activities relevant to their age group.

We are a small Parent and Teacher Association, raising funds for St Mary's Lower School in Clophill. Activities include Church Fetes, Firework Night and Movie Nights for the children.

We provide and manage a meeting place and recreational space for local residents and other local groups.

1. Promote the awareness, education and practise of brass band music through accomplished and development ensembles, particularly for students of brass instruments.2. Offer free access to ensemble playing for local under 18's and full time students.3. Promote brass band playing and music by visiting local schools, colleges, etc., public performances and charity concerts.

Gravenhurst Reading Room is run by a committee for the village charity, the activities are mainly control of the hireing and maintenance of the reading room , to provide the village with use for internal recreation within the hall.

To raise funds within the local community for the promotion of activities within Raynsford Lower School that will aid the development of the children.

Religious education and general charitable activities

Maintains the Old Baptist Chapel in Blunham and associated property, on behalf of the worshipping congregation. Also provides a small annual sum for distribution to the poor of the parish in accordance with the trust deeds.

The objectives of the BFHS are to advance the education of the public in the study of Family History. We publish a quarterly journal, hold monthly meetings (www.bfhs.org.uk), provide research, publish CDs of Beds Parish Registers, publish Monumental Inscriptions from Churchyards within Beds, run a bookstall & library, provide a range of look-up services and carry out other relevant activities.

Community work.

The Charity collects income from Investments and Pays Students in their second year ay University a Grant if their home address is within Flitwick, and we also assist Applicants for Relief in Need

Management of a village hall which provides social and leisure facilities for the inhabitants of Turvey and neighbouring villages.

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bedford is organised to promote the understanding and demonstration of the truth as set forth in the Bible and interpreted in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.

The PTA exists to raise money for the children of Silsoe Lower School. Money is raised from events held for the whole family such as our Christmas Market, Summer Fayre and Children's Bingo Nights and those arranged for parents, for example our very successful May Ball. Money is spent according to the needs of the school. This may be on IT or other equipment or on fun activities for the children.

The objects of the Band are to advance the education of the general public in the art and science of British Brass Band music through the provision of public band concerts, contests and recitals and training in brass music skills.
