Birmingham Citizens Advice Bureau has twin aims:* provision of information, advice and advocacy to the people of Birmingham and* influence the development of social policy to tackle injustice, reduce poverty and social exclusionThis free, confidential and impartial advice service is provided to the standards set by national Citizens Advice

Activities include programmes in the following areas; schools, disability, amateur sport, health, social inclusion, women and girls and volunteer programmes. Programmes, consist of three core activities - education, suitable physical activity and social inclusion.

The current activities are to further public education in botany,horticulture and zoology and provide facilities for research. In addition the charity maintains and operates the Birmingham Botanical Gardens and Glasshouses for the above purpose and for the recreation of the public.

We provide services throughout the whole of the Black Country and Birmingham, to promote the wellbeing of carers and the person they care for. This includes CQC regulated services of domiciliary care and support, along with information, advice, guidance and training for carers, helping to improve lives, carer breakdown, resulting in admittance to hospital or longer term residential care.

To promote the welfare and advance the education of those children, young people and adults who are in need of special care and attention as a result of the educational difficulties they either do experience or have experienced. These difficulties will have usually caused them to attend schools for children with special educational needs, or in special classes within main stream schools.

To provide an education for children with autism through the introduction of effective communications systems enabling them to access any area of the national curriculum; to provide assistance and support for the family and friends of children with autism and enabling them to participate in the wider community. Central England Area Quaker Meeting is one of the constituent Area Meetings of the Religious Society of Friends in Britain, established for the advancement of religion. Its principal activities are the holding of meetings for worship in its constituent local meetings and the support of its various branches, including Peacemakers (West Midlands Quaker Peace Education Project) and Peace Hub.
