The Belmont PTA exists to provide financial support to Belmont CP School. In doing so it enriches the pupils social and academic activities. It also serves to integrate the school into the wider community.

RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES & EDUCATION/TRAINING

Promoting classical music concerts - mainly solo piano

To support the charitable work of the Lancashire Army Cadet Force in such ways as the committee shall think fit; in particular but not exclusively by the provision of grants and donations.

Arrange and support learning activities for the community particularly the Youth. The East Rural Youth & Community Association operates in the only community centre in the East Rural Ward of Blackburn with Darwen.

Diversions' is a support network, based in the North West of England, for families with a child or young person living with a bladder or bowel diversion / dysfunction. We provide opportunities for people to experience a range of different fun activities through our regular programme of events. These include outdoor adventures and team building tasks, art work-shops and day trips out

The purpose/aims of the choir are to promote cultural enrichment of the community through the presentation of public concerts, music performances and workshops.

Parents and teachers association for Ashleigh Primary School in Darwen. Fundraising activities include Christmas markets, summer BBQ, bingo nights, disco & carboot sales. Our events are mainly held on the school premises.

We raise funds to provide community public access automated external defibrillators for the benefit of local communities, training on their use and advice and assistance relating to the acquisition of AED's and installations within communities across the North West of England

To manage and operate Lower Chapels Darwen for the public good.

Bolton Neuro Voices works with five local support groups (Stroke, ME. Parkinson's. MS and Motor Neurone Disease) and also with individuals with rarer conditions to improve quality of life. It provides a range of services including links to statutory bodies, information and access to hydrotherapy and dry exercise. Involvement in these activities facilitates mutual support and reduces isolation.

Organising events to provide extra funding for educational visits and activities and equipment for the school.

To provide sports and recreation facilities for all people and for all walks of life.

Collation of Fauna records from Lancashire and Cheshire and dissemination of information via Annual Bird Reports, Web Site, occasional General Reports and occasional Books (i.e. The Atlas of Breeding Birds of Lancashire and North Merseyside (2002), Birds of Lancashire and North Merseyside (2008))

Fund raising events for the benefit of the school supplementing and enhancing the educational/social experiences of the pupils attending the school

To sustain, maintain and enhance the environment, heritage and use of Sunnyhurst wood for the benefit of the Blackburn with Darwen community.

The charity makes awards to students, under 25 years of age, resident in or in the neighbourhood of Blackburn, who are entering university or other institutions of higher education for degree courses. Candidates must be nominated by the head teacher or principal of the college attended and will be selected using set criteria: academic excellence, career ambitions and financial need.

The Friends of Darwen Cemetery aim to preserve and improve Darwen Cemetery and promote its historical, environmental and cultural significance. They also seek to encourage community participation in their work especially by the youth of the town.

We aim to promote social inclusion by providing a local network group that encourages members of the excluded community to participate equally and more effectively with the wider community. Increasing, or co-ordinating opportunities for members of the excluded community irrespective of race, religion, culture and creed.

To promote, help and support Blackburn Musem and Art Gallery by raising money for artifacts and conservation, promoting the use of the Museum and Art Gallery, and providing volunteers for special work.
