THE MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THE CHARITY ARE TO PROVIDE A FACILITY WHERE MUSLIM CHILDREN/ADULT CAN READ / WORSHIP AND TO ADVANCE THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE ISLAMIC FAITH IN THE WEST BOWLING AREA OF BRADFORD.

The Centre provides day care, on three days per week, for residents within the Queensbury area who, because of age and infirmity, would not have any social contact with their neighbours. Refreshments are provided throughout the day including a hot mid-day meal. A full programme of activities, entertainments and trips are organised with support given to ensure no-one is excluded.

Provision of a community transport service for such of the inhabitants of Addingham, Burley in Wharfedale, Ilkley and Menston and its neighbourhood who are in need of such service because of age, sickness or disability, poverty, or because of a lack of availability of adequate and safe public passenger services.

We provide support groups for individuals affected by Tourettes Syndrome to meet others and access support. We provide a sibling support group for children with siblings who have SEND. We provide a support group for children with ADHD. We offer 1-2-1 support and advocacy. We deliver awareness talks to local schools, business and entertainment venues.

We rescue predominantly, but not exclusively, pound dogs at high risk of euthanasia. We rescue abandoned dogs.We provide assessment, training and rehabilitation, where necessary, prior to rehoming. We provide ongoing support for the dogs we rehome.We operate a non destruct policy unless advised by a veterinary surgeon on welfare grounds to do so.

To raise public awareness of global development issues and social justice through:Provision of development education resources and training for teachers and youth workers.Provision of support and advice on development education.Research in the field of development education.Publication and dissemination of educational resources.

The charity's principal activity was to relieve the charitable needs of and promote and project the good health of persons who are spinal cord injured and have been a patient at the Yorkshire Regional Spinal Injuries Centre.

The building continues to be used by outside organisations and the local clergy as well as the regular functions of a place of worship. A number of social events for members of the local community have also been held.We continue to support missionary and relief organisations both nationally and internationally.

BAOS is a charity engaged in production of amateur operatic shows, both musicals and pantomimes. We train young people in dance, singing, acting and other performance skills.

The Cricket Asylum Foundation provides an inclusive opportunity for disadvantaged people to participate in the game of cricket to make a positive difference to the community. We have taster Sessions aimed at primary schools and youth groups, offer a scholarship programme and coach groups and individuals bespoke to the participants needs, we deliver where best suited for the recipient.

To promote the relief of elderly people, in particular the elderly Indian Gujarati, in any manner deemed bylaw to be charitable. AMEC welcomes all members of the public and local community.
