Calderdale British Muslim Association (BMA) is a specialist service provider for Black & MInority Ethinic Community.British Muslim Association offers quality support services that are culturally,lingustically & religiously approriate for people from the South East Asia. BMA explores innovative ways of working effectively with a wide range of service providers and commisssioners.

The development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials.

The Charity hosts 2 events annually: one a Concert of Music and Song from Shows, Operetta, Religious and Spiritual; and the other a Stage Show, with a view to educating the public in the dramatic and operatic arts. Also social events as arranged by the members.

To advance the appreciation of music for all age groups by providing workshops, rehearsal and performance of choral and instrumental works.

VARIOUS ACTIVITIES FOR TODDLERS, CHILDREN, OLDER PEOPLE AND GENERAL CLASSES FOR PEOPLE OF THE COMMUNITY.

The charity exists to offer assistance to individuals or groups who require first aid, rescue or removal from underground environments in Northern England and the Isle of Man.The charity is also able to offer educational facilities to individuals or groups on the dangers of the underground environment (in particular disused mines) in Northern England and the Isle of Man.

CTI 2000 seeks to enable adults with learning disabilities to meet together for fun and friendship, be active members of the local community and reach their full potential.

To foster a love and interest in music general and in particular, music for brass bands. to maintain and support the band by raising funds and to give instruction to young people and others of ether sex in all sections of the community including disabled unemployed and ethnic minorities in the playing and manipulation of instruments normally comprised in brass band and orchestras generally.

The Halifax Orchestral Society markets itself as the Halifax Symphony Orchestra. The Orchestra gives three concerts per year in the Halifax, Calderdale region

Vocal Expressions is a ladies choir, based in the Holme Valley, West Yorkshire. It meets its objectives through public concerts, singing at other charities' events, & at weddings. The choir's varied repertoire includes traditional & folk songs; classical and religious music and songs from musical shows.

The provision of affordable housing for women aged 50 years and above living in the Bradshaw, Illingworth Moor, Illingworth and Holdsworth area of benefit.

To promote the appreciation of classical music by the presentation of concerts, particularly of chamber music.

Promoting awareness of Hinduism through education and meditation. Developing close links with other religious groups. Leading interfaith activities and community cohesion events to promote social inclusion.

The Phoenix Mens Shed Halifax exists to provide a space where people (predominantly but not exclusively men over the age of 55) can meet to share hobbies and interests, pass on or learn new skills and make friendships to promote wellbeing and to help alleviate loneliness.

A Trust Fund associated with a Rotary International Club raising funds to help local individuals and organisations to achieve their ambitions and better fulfil their potential, to assist those in need or suffering hardship and to undertake charitable purposes for the public benefit both in the UK and internationally.

We aim to provide the means for local people over 50 yrs. to pursue their interest in structured groups. We rent appropriate space, provide equipment, produce a time-table and recruit class leaders in return for an annual membership fee and class fee, classes include sports, languages, arts, handicrafts, and games. We hold monthly forums with a speaker, monthly luncheon club & walking group.

CONCERT PERFORMANCES, COMPETITIONS AND FESTIVALS. COMMUNITY LINKS MADE THROUGH SCHOOLS, BANDS AND OTHER CHARITIES. PATRONS SCHEME GIVES SUPPORTERS OPPORTUNITY TO GET INVOLVED IN ACTIVELY SUPPORTING THE BAND ATTENDING THEIR OWN CONCERTS AND RECEIVING QUARTERLY NEWSLETTERS. SUPPORTING THE BAND HAS BECOME A KEEN INTEREST FOR MANY OF OUR PATRONS HELPING ORGANISE CONCERTS AND FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES.
