Charities In Central Bedfordshire

We work with small groups of vulnerable adults, including learning disabled, autistic, ex-offenders and those with mental health problems. We care for 5 acres of woodland, hedges and meadow and grow herb and wildflower plants to sell. We also produce an increasing number of our own preserves, cards, jewellery and gifts. We regularly open to the public and also welcome visitors and volunteers.

Co-ordinates and supports activities of Women's Institutes in Bedfordshire. The Women's Institutes undertake activities to enable women interested in issues associated with rural life to improve their education in citizenship, public questions, music culture, handicrafts, home economics, health and social welfare and to improve rural life.

The provision of sporting activities for disabled and special needs youngsters.

We support people with learning disabilities in the Bedford area.Also incorporated within Bedford Mencap is Sparkle Club, a weekly social club for adults with learning disabilities in Bedford.

A Musical Theatre group which creates and performs Musical theatres shows around the Watford area.

We provide a comprehensive range of Bibles, Christian books, CD's, DVD's, Greeting Cards, Teaching Materials, Puppets, Christian Art and gifts. We also privide a listening ear and prayer for people who have problems. We have an area with limited catering facilities that may be used by groups who are sympathetic to Christian teaching for community activities.

The Village hall is mainly used for meetings, lectures, classes and other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation.

EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN RESPECT OF ALL TYPES OF STEAM ENGINES, INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES, TRACTORS, AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT.

HRCDC is concerned with helping the formation of a vibrant, healthy community in the new build known as Bidwell West (HRN2) in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire. This includes hiring a community worker and providing a community building in the local centre of the development.

Bedford Ladies and Girls Football Club offers opportunities for girls and ladies to play association football at an amateur level. The club offers Walking Football, and runs after-school sessions to allow more girls to try football and encourage them to consider playing.Youth teams play in the FA Bedfordshire Girls League. Ladies teams play in the Eastern Region Womens Football League.

Bringing Help and Change to Communities in Need

The Hall is for the use of Great Barford Villagers and villagers from surrounding villages. It is used for various indoor activities and by various village communities

To relieve the needs of people in care homes within the unitary boroughs of Bedford, Central Beds. and Luton or any area previously defined as being within Bedfordshire by any or all of the following:(i) developing schemes for befriending residents(ii) assisting care homes in meeting the spiritual needs of residents, in particular to help them in meeting their statutory requirements.

Sorted provides a free counselling service to children and young people

The Synagogue holds regular Shabbat services and regular Cheder sessions for children. There is also an adult education programme. We also hold social events during the year. The Synagogue is represented on the Milton Keynes Council of Faiths and Interfaith Milton Keynes.

Education/training and religious activities relating to children/young people by way of grants to individuals or organisations with particular reference to Pulford School Leighton Buzzard.

A community hall serving the needs of many organisations in Bedfordshire for various functions. Comprises hall, stage, committee room, kitchen and bar. Hired through bookings officer (see email or by phone 01525 634215). Uses include weddings, birthdays, barn dances, tea dances, quiz nights, drama performances, dog shows, breast cancer screening, exhibitions, charity fundraising.

PRE SCHOOL GROUP FOR UNDER FIVES

The Charity supports the monastic life and public prayer of the community of monks. The community promotes ecumenical and inter-faith relations and hosts courses in psychotherapy and the relationship between psychotherapy and spirituality. It also receives individuals and groups for religious and educational and cultural reasons and makes some grants for reasons of religion, education and hardship

Bringing the message of Jesus through preaching and teaching and through acts of love and kindness and compassion locally and in other places in the UK and overseas. Building a community of people who love God, love the Bible, love to worship, pray, and serve. Encouraging people to attain their maximum potential in God.

To advance the Christian Religion

The charity continues the management of the Blunham playing fields for recreational use on behalf of the public and the villagers of the parish of Blunham, Bedfordshire. This includes the development of facilities including the completed childrens play area and also the development of a new pavillion for members and sporting clubs.

To relieve the suffering of animals in need of care & attention primarily hedgehogs and other UK wildlife. In particular to provide and maintain rescue homes or other activities for the reception care and treatment of orphaned, injured, ill or abandoned animals, with the aim of returning any wild animals to their natural environment and any domestic to a suitable home.

To pursue the objectives of the Girlguiding UK within Bedfordshire, overseeing @870 volunteers and @3300 young members aged 4-18.
