General charitable purposes, children/education

Management,maintenance and improvement of a playing field and recreation area which is used by a wide variety of children and adults of all ages.

Distress relief to individuals; grants in aid to community groups; donations to Cheshire Masonic charities.

For the benefit of poor people living within the boundaries of the ancient Parish of Mottram in Longdendale, which covers (in addition to the present parish): Hattersley, Matley, Newton, Godley, Stalybridge, Mossley, Hollingworth and Tintwistle

To advance the Christian religion by the restoration, preservation, repair, maintenance and beautification of the Parish Church of St James the Great, Gawsworth in the county of Cheshire, and also of the momuments, fittings, fixtures, stained glass, furniture, ornaments and chattels in the Church and Churchyard. Also to promote a wide interest in the care and preservation of this historic church

Providing educational materials and opportunities to enhance the students' learning experience

Recreational and social activities

Provision of financial aid to those in need and seeking assistance from St John's Church, Knutsford.

Arrange regular meetings, recitals and lectures for members

Regular lectures on subjects relating to the title of the Society.

LOCAL AND SPECIFIC RELIGIOUS CHARITY

Assistance with Further Education Costs for Nominated Old King's Scholars

Relieving either generally or individually persons resident in Acton, Brindley, Burland or Worleston who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress by making grants of money or providing or paying for items, services or facilities calculated to reduce the need, hardship or distress of such persons.

To raise money to support charitable activities, locally and in UK.

The group does astronomy, as well as providing education for both its members and the wider community, e.g. to scout or guide troops, or to external astronomy events.

Relief of poverty in Dodleston Parish

Provides advocacy and advice on planning permissions, etc

We meet once a month, with a speaker and visit other institutes. Along with the occasional outing.

Women's Institute

Raising funds in support of Marbury Church and its activities.

The principal activity is to organise talks for members on history topics relating to Congleton and the surrounding area.

WOMENS INSTITUTE

The objects of the charity are:a) For the public benefit, the preservation, conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment and biodiversity of St John's Wood and St Helena's Church to encourage others to engage with, understand, enjoy and protect the woodland and church site.b) in pursuance of the above, to advance the education of the public.
