Shirley Parish Hall is available for hire by groups (clubs/societies) and individuals. The complex comprises a large hall with stage and smaller (Evans Room), kitchen facilities are also available to hirers.

Charis Club original aim was and is to educate people through their leisure and social time so to develop their physical mental and spiritual capabilities. Croydon U3A provides opportunities for participation in over 65 member-led groups including languages, chess, rambling, history, Scrabble, poetry - to name but a few. There is a lively outings and holidays programme and a monthly general meeting to which an outside speaker is invited. Members can attend summer schools run by the U3A national office, and study days organised by other local groups.

The 1st Crystal Palace Scout Group is a member of the Scout Association and as such provides adventurous activities and personal development opportunities for young people aged 6-25.

Erith Theatre Guild is an entirely voluntary organisation for the promotion of the performing arts (drama, pantomime, music and dance) in South East London and North West Kent through the provision and maintenance of a community theatre known as Erith Playhouse. The theatre is available primarily for productions by Erith Playhouse Ltd but also to other local societies, schools of dance and bands.
