Purley Overseas Trust raises funds by organising fund-raising events, and by soliciting donations. We use the funds raised to finance projects in Developing Countries for the relief of poverty and to sponsor visits to these countries for relief work. We inform the people of Purley and surrounding districts of the problems of Developing Countries.

Daley Bread has been set up to provide support and services to vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our community ie children, young people and families. The object of the Club is to encourage skill in shooting by providing instruction and practice in the use of rifle and pistol to any of Her Majesty's subjects so that they will be better fitted to serve their country in the Armed Forces, the Territorial Army or in any other organisation in which their services may be required for the defence of the realm in times of peril.

The choir performs a range of different songs which it performs to various groups in the local community. It does not audition for entry and the choir works hard to achieve a high standard for performance. Our two main concerts - at Christmas and in the Summer - usually raise significant sums for 3 local charities each year. As a result of the pandemic, no concerts were held in 2020 and 2021.

1st Shirley Guides is for girls aged 10 - 14. They take part in exciting activities on Friday evenings and at special events or camps. Guides do adventure sports, play fun games, and take part in community and fund raising projects. Guides work together in Patrols and, with the support of adult Leaders, choose and run activities in line with the new programme as well as Interest badges.
