Religious Activities

Christians In Action operates in two main ways. In the the church in London we work with children, youth and adults to help them to become mature human beings who can be of service to God and to the community.We also forward support to workers, mainly overseas and funds for projects such as orphanages and a day care centre for children as well as a home for the elderly.

The main purpose of the church is the advancement of the Christian faith according to the principles of the Baptist denomination. In order to achieve this, the Church provides a variety of activities both to its membership and to the community generally. The aim is to show the love of Jesus Christ in both word and deed and to bring people into a closer relationship with Him as living Lord.

The provision of financial support to the Order of Our Lady of Fidelity's religious communities at Upper Norwood, Folkestone and India. The development of a new Apostolate at Folkestone consisting of a chapel for the local community, day care for 2 to 5s and individually guided retreats.

The organisation's objects is to relieve those who have been affected by domestic violence, in particular but not exclusively young people, by the provision of advice, counselling and support.

The parish of St Oswald, Norbury is a parish church within the Church of England. Our main activities are the provision of regular religious services, services for life events for the community and supporting activities amongst those in need in the local community. We raise funds to maintain our worshipping life, develop community activities and to support local and overseas charities.

The provision of the arts in the London Borough of Bromley and surrounding neighbourhoods by hosting various professional organisations and charities to encourage the public: to learn about the arts; to participate in the arts; to join a cultural event; to attend an educational course; to observe art displays and also to attend a wide variety of concerts and performances.

LEGS provides physiotherapist led rehabilitation in a supportive and enjoyable group environment for people who have had a stroke or live with a neurological condition. LEGS is a UK registered charity consisting of a course of weekly group exercise and discussion sessions. Classes take place in private exercise studios and online.

SEJA (previously ACE Projects) collaborates with and accelerates local community leaders to provide a viable cultural alternative to the violent and antisocial lifestyle in communities experiencing higher levels of violence. All SEJA collaborating local leaders are themselves from the communities they look to serve.

TO ADVANCE THE CHRISTIAN FAITH IN LONDON FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC THROUGH THE HOLDING OF PRAYER MEETINGS, LECTURES AND TEACHINGS, CELEBRATIONS AND CONFERENCES DURING EASTER AND CHRISTMAS PERIODS, PRODUCING AND DISTRIBUTING LITERATURE ON THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION.

Primary use is as a Sikh place of worship (Croydon Gurdwara) for regular prayers, education of Gurmukhi, the Sikh religion, music and seva.To provide a community space for community activities for all including the elderly.To assist any member in times of need. To perform lifecycle events such as marriage, funerals, baptisms and celebrate other key dates.To promote interfaith relations.

Provides spiritual support to community, educate people in spirituality, give advice and help promote Christianity as taught by our Lord Jesus Christ in its simplest form.

We are committed to empowering vulnerable and marginalised individuals in Sri Lanka. We provide vital support through various initiatives, including: educational empowerment, youth development, women's empowerment, elderly care, and community support. By addressing the root causes of poverty and inequality, we work towards a more just and equitable future for Sri Lanka.

St Mary Magdalene is a parish church within the Church of England in Addiscombe, Croydon. It holds regular Christian services of worship. The Church is licensed for weddings, funerals and Christian baptism.The church premises are used by a large variety of community ad church activities.Full details can be obtained from the church website: www.stmmm.org.uk

During the year the building was used by many of our members to facilitate birthday and funeral receptions, amongst others; and by various community groups to facilitate theatre practice, accounts training and Quadrille dancing; and variously for the social entertainment of our members, particularly our seniors. Cricket, dominoes and senior outings were also facilitated by the organisation.

Promoting in the parish the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical.

SYO aims to educate in the art and science of music. We hold weekly rehearsals during term time for musicians aged up to 21 drawing children from SW London, Surrey & Middlesex. Our three concerts each year are open to the public, and we organise an annual/biannual tour abroad. Most members pay to belong to the orchestra but no child with musical talent is excluded because of inability to pay.

All activites are for the benefit of older people living in and around the London Borough of Lewisham and include: community cafe, language learning opportunities, digital inclusion, social activities, keep fit and dance classes, and a place of belonging.

Promotion of the Christian Faith and helping and supporting the community of Monks Hill

The advancement of education of the community in music, drama, and other arts, in Lambeth and surrounding communities, through the provision of training, advice, holistic counselling, the promotion of inclusion and cohesion, in order to encourage the development of a non-discriminatory and multi cultural environment.

OASIS COMMUNITY HUB: ASHBURTON IS WORKING IN THE CROYDON COMMUNITY ALONGSIDE OASIS ACADEMIES ARENA, RYELANDS AND SHIRLEY PARK. CURRENT ACTIVITIES INCLUDE YOUTH WORK, FAMILY SUPPORT, A CHURCH SOCIAL GROUP AND FOOD POVERTY INITIATIVES.
