Furness Education and Skills Partnership works with schools and the wider community to help young people gain the skills, experience and confidence to have successful futures. We design and deliver projects and events which raise awareness of opportunities, develop skills and put learning into a real context for young people. Our work dovetails into that of the local Careers Hub.

1) Providing worship, prayer and teaching services in Chester-Le-Street. 2) Encouraging and supporting individuals in the church and wider community. 3) Provision of services for children and young people. 4) Supporting through giving financial gifts to individuals and organisations that fulfil the charities vision and values.

Promoting in the ecclesiastical parish the whole mission of the church

The charity acts as an 'umbrella 'organisation to support the activities of the Christian churches in the South Lakes area of Cumbria which are affiliated to the Methodist Church. Specifically the charity engages the Ministers who have pastoral charge over these churches, and will organise religious activities and meetings in support.

Supporting communities in Lancashire and Cumbria

Ambleside Parish Centre provides very high quality space for voluntary organisations andchurches for local people in Ambleside and the wider community.

To further the education of children attending Sedbergh School. To award scholarships, exhibitions, bursaries for those who are attending Sedbergh School who are in need of financial assistance. To award grants to those who are attending Sedbergh School to enable them to travel (UK or abroad) in furtherance of their education. To otherwise further the education of such persons.

Church in the Barn is a family church and we desire to see all ages come into a closer relationship with Christ Jesus. A warm welcome awaits anyone who wants to join us in worship in our gentle but lively style of praise every Sunday at 11am and 6.30pm.We also operate a Sunday School and a large youth club, 'Youth in the Barn' which meets every Friday evening at 7.30pm.

The Northern Fells Rural Community Development Group promotes and undertakes charitable activities of any kind for the benefit and welfare of the inhabitants, communities and organisations in the parishes of Ireby with Uldale, Boltons, Westward, Sebergham, Caldbeck, Castle Sowerby and Mungrisdale in Cumbria

We educate the public in South Cumbria and North Lancashire in the art and science of orchestral music. We promote concerts in Kendal, and manage the Lakeland Sinfonia orchestra.

We are an animal rescue and rehoming charity, operating within and around Cumbria. We aim to help neglected or unwanted animals, and to arrange for the provision of good homes for them. It is our policy never to put down an animal except where legally required or on the advice of a veterinary surgeon.

We are a small Pre-School set in the premises of Cockermouth Methodist Church. We cater for children from 2 to 5 years and provide a safe and happy environment for them to learn and play. We are currently rated GOOD by Ofsted.

Regular public worship open to all. Provision of sacred space for personal prayer and contemplation. Pastoral work. Teaching the Christian faith. Supporting local schools, organisations, events and activities. Promoting the whole mission of the Church.

Grants are awarded to voluntary groups throughout the North West, who provide sports, leisure and health orientated activities for young people. These groups include local sports clubs, scouts, youth clubs and children with special needs. We also provide grants for other charities involved with mountain recreational activities such as footpath repairs, mountain rescue and air ambulance.

KEY currently provides a range of youth work in Milnthorpe (Cumbria) and surrounding villages. Delivery is in the community (including a youth cafe; open youth club; social action projects; holiday activities) and the local comprehensive school (including lunch-time drop-ins; Alternative Curriculum workshops and 1:1 sessions). It plans additional youth and inter-generational projects.

The present donation strategy of the charity (based in South Cumbria) is to support local individuals, local charities and smaller organisations in preference to the major national charities. When making donations to individuals, those individuals are expected to be making efforts of their own to help meet the costs of their projects.

Provision of housing for the elderly of Kendal in one bedroom flats and bungalows. The Almshouse occupiers must be in need and are means tested. A monthly maintenance contribution, currently £190, is made towards the cost of maintaining the almshouse. The charity is financially sound and the dwellings are in excellent order.
