The principal duties of the trustees are to administer the trust in accordance with the charity commission's order of 1906 and subsequent amendments.

Advancement of the arts, in particular music, dance and drama, for people with disabilities and or sensory impairment with a view to relieve their needs, have fun and grow in confidence. This is achieved by a series of workshops where people with the above disabilities work with able bodied people under the guidance of trained tutors to create an original piece of theatre.

DAY CENTRE

Friends of St James Okehampton (FOSJO) supports pupils at St James Primary and Nursery School by facilitating projects which offer the children activities and resources that are outside of but complementary to the remit of the school. FOSJO organises various fundraising events to achieve this.

To provide tuition and all necessary equipment to enable members of the public to handle small boats safely under sail. To encourage participation in a healthy outdoor pursuit and foster appreciation of the local environment. These activities are open to all, including the disabled, for whom special additional help is available.

Village Hall

The Community Life Hub Group is a social prescribing project working with both surgeries within the town and surrounding villages to help reduce loneliness, isolation or anyone just wanting a bit of company.Our aim is to build confidence, to encourage them to get involved in our activities and/or enable them to access services and other activities within the local community.

The Charity exists to raise money through the brethren of the Lodge and their visitors for both Masonic and non Masonic charities.

The LADS is a group of some 20 Lustleigh residents who have volounteered their time to provide transport (using their own cars) for those residents who lack their own. All drivers are insured and the Association is covered by Publick Liability Insurance.

Fuel grants to the over 60s and younger residents of Culmstock needing help with heating bills. Also grants to students resident in Culmstock to purchase books for college courses.

As a PTA Committee we do as much fund raising as we can in the local community to provide extra equipment in school to benefit our children, pay for coaches for school trips etc. This can be in various forms - coffee mornings, summer fayres, Xmas hampers, dances and sponsored events.
