TO PROMOTE AND ASSIST THE GENERAL RELIEF OF ALL HANDICAPPED PERSONS IN TAVISTOCK AND SURROUNDING AREAS, BY ASSISTING THE WORK OF STATUTORY AUTHORITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS ENGAGED IN PROVIDING FACILITIES FOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL RECREATION IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE OF SUCH HANDICAPPED PERSONS, FURTHERING HEALTH, RELIEVING POVERTY, DISTRESS OR SICKNESS

306. Compilation of memory sticks extracted from local newspapers on a weekly basis together with the production of a monthly magazine on memory sticks for distribution to blind and partially sighted people living mainly in the Sid Valley and East Devon area.

Rent from Land ownership received and donations are made to older parishioners, mostly & single/widowed at Christmas time and to students in the parish in full time education.

The charity was set up to address the physical and mental well-being needs of the farming and wider rural community of Greater Exmoor. It offers free drop-in clinic at the livestock market at Wheddon Cross coinciding with monthly cattle and sheep sales. The clinics are staffed by NHS professionals and volunteers from local farming and community based charities.

Provide sport and social activities for disabled people and their families and friends

We are a small charity that help people in our parish who may have fallen upon hard times, illness or misfortune and need a little extra support that might not otherwise be available.

Activities focus on the advancement of the Baha'i Faith and belief in the essential oneness of the world's revealed religions and on Baha'i ideals of human brotherhood through various means including devotional meetings, children's classes, youth activities, study sessions and interfaith involvement.

Cash donations are given to residents of the village of Sampford Peverell who are in need of monetary help in circumstances ie death in family; cash towards the cost of transport to visit relative who is in hospital on a long term stay; any requests for help from villagers is carefully considered by trustees.

We have planning permission for 39 new affordable units in Dartington, Totnes, including units for young people with support needs and adults with learning disabilities, all homes will be for social rent.

Assisting with the preservation, repair and improvement of St Leonard's church, Sheepstor including the memorials to the rajahs and people of Sarawak.

Support and improve provision of music and singing in St Andrews Church, Holy Trinity Church, U.R. Church and Bere Alston Primary School. All part of Bere Ferrers parish.

To apply the funds received from the sale of the Eric Palmer Centre for the benefit of the Church and Community of Great Torrington.
