MEETINGS, LECTURES AND CLASSES AND FOR OTHER FORMS OF RECREATION , EDUCATION AND LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION

The principal activity of the charity is to provide support and assistance by way of time, talents and financial aid/donations. Activities are undertaken locally, nationally and through international projects. A key maxim of the Rotary movement is "Service above Self" and members give service as volunteers.

Performs symphony concerts in the community. Holds music workshops fo young musicians and disadvantaged people in the community.

The League receives good financial support from individual businesses and local organisations such as the local Rotary Clubs, churches, etc. This means regular updating and purchase of additional major equipment has taken place. Since the new hospital was opened in 2004 in excess of £1,000,000 has been raised, which has funded some major pieces of equipment as well as many smaller items.

To support the work of the Poltimore House Trust in restoring and bringing into public use Poltimore House near Exeter.

Activities during the school holidays & special events & youth club throughout the year for young people aged 8-16 living in Barnstaple.

Advancement of the Christian faith

Exeter Street Pastors is a church response to urban problems and issues we face in our city centre, where we seek to help, care for and listen to people we meet at night time each weekend from 10.30pm - 2.30am. Street Pastors engage with the city centre local community, assisting any in need of help, while working alongside the council, police, pub & club doorstaff & other emergency services.

Provision of a village hall facility for people in the Parish, and also benefiting the wider community.

The charity provides our community with a pleasant and safe facility for their use for meetings and various social functions. We fundraise by hosting events like a monthly quiz & supper, we have dinners and put on live bands & shows. All of which enrich the social activities of our community as well as raising money.

Uplift Devon seeks to improve the lives and life chances of any child under the age of five in the south-west by providing professional support and spaces for families to meet, learn and make connections. Parent and child sessions are designed to enable parents to support their young children, becoming active participants in their children's learning.

WE ARE A HOSPITAL LEAGUE OF FRIENDS. WE RAISE FUNDS MAINLY THROUGH A SHOP SELLING DONATED SECOND HAND ITEMS (ALL STAFFED VOLUNTARILY), AND SUPPORT THE TYRELL HOSPITAL PATIENTS OR OUTPATIENTS AND THOSE ATTENDING ANY LOCAL CLINICS BY PROVIDING EQUIPMENT/ITEMS FUNDING PROJECTS OR TRAINING.
