The Council promotes the activities of the three operating trusts

Provision and maintenance of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of Washford Pyne and neighbourhood.

Parents Teachers & Friends Association

Gittisham hall is hired out for various public events: Weddings, parties, folk dance club & meetings by various groups. As a charity we hold social events for surrounding areas such as Gittisham, Gittisham Vale & Honiton. Holding Pantomime, season events such as Burns Night, Fete's. These events are attended by various ages. The hall is our main place to gather in our village.

The object of the Association is to advance the education of the pupils in the school. In furtherance of this object the Association may: a) engage in activities which support the school and advance the education of the pupils attending it; b) provide and assist in the provision of facilities for for education at the school (not normally provided by the Local Education Authority).

Promoting interest in Devon's history and heritage by conferences, symposia and the publication of a journal. The society also encourages and offers support to those carrying out research into Devon's history.

General scouting activities for boys and girls from six years to fifteen.

To promote, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in all its aspects by the presentation of public concerts and recitals and by such other ways as the Orchestra through its Committee shall determine from time to time.

Awarding of grants for educational purposes

A self-help organisation for older people and those who are retired from full time work, which draws upon the knowledge, experience and skills of our members to organise and provide interest groups in accordance with the wishes of the membership. Members come together to continue their educational, social and creative interests in a friendly and informal environment.

We provide a safe place for people to join together and express their Christian faith. We also seek to help and encourage anyone who is searching for clarity in their own spirituality. Expressing the Christian faith includes spiritual, material, practical & financial support to local, national & international needs.Main funding is from freewill offerings. Based in Sticklepath, Okehampton, Devon.

Fundraising Events

The charity provides an opportunity for young people to enjoy their instruments and improve their musical skills by playing together. Ensembles coached by experienced musicians meet weekly and they give about three public concerts each year.

We are Elected Trustee's and Trustee's/ Represenatives of Village Organizations to our village hall, which is for hire to the general public.

Ashburton Repair Cafe (ARC) promotes the reuse and recycling of household products by offering education on how to repair, and offering a repair service. We do not charge for repairs. People often give a donation for the time taken by our volunteers, and this is entirely voluntary.

Provide amenities for promotion of brass band music.Educate the general public in the art of brass band music.Enabling musicians of all ages, abilities and ethnic background to make music together.

Village Hall

The charity procides a local voice for residents of the area described as Bridgetown in Totnes Devon. The charity seeks to support community redevelopment intiatives through consultation with the local community. Projects have included enhancement of Steamer Quay, new community Notice Boards and provision of new playpark equipment.

The objects are the promotion and provision of facilities for the beneficiaries so that they can be helped especially but not exclusively through leisure time activities so as to develop their physical, mental and/or spiritual capacities that they can grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society.

The objects are to apply the trust fund at such times and in such a manner to or for the benefit of such exclusively charitable objects or purposes as the trustees in their absolute discretion think fit.

FUND RAISING FOR UGBOROUGH PRIMARY SCHOOL TO HELP FUND ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR THE CHILDREN AND OR SUPPLY ADDITIONAL RESOURCES.

The charity had high expenditure of refurbishment costs for the school which left us in a negative profit for the year 2022-2023 but still managed to give some Christmas gifts and maintenance funding to the Parochial Church Charity for St James, from our previous years income.2023-2024 Church branch paid out from reserves £ 19,000 for repair work to the roof and interior of St James
