The role of Hull CVS is to support the sustainable development of voluntary and communtiy groups and volunteering in Hull and its neighbourhood. Refurnish is an entrepreneurial social enterprise that delivers social, environmental and economic targets. The organisation was formed in response to two factors; lack of affordable furniture for disadvantaged people who were often exploited by unethical lenders and the vast amounts of reusable furniture being buried in landfill. We use or work as a training aid for disadvantaged people.

To deliver social objectives by co-ordinating community development activities, employment and life skills support and developing social enterprises.

Provides supported accommodation to vulnerable young women, young women with learning disabilities, and young mums with babies.Provides outreach support to vulnerable families in their own tenancies.Aims: to teach independent living skills; to help develop parenting skills.

Promoting for the benefit of the public, the conservation and preservation of the geology, archaeology, ecology and landscape in the Creswell Crags Heritage Area and the surroundings; of taking steps to secure the removal of inappropriate development from the Creswell gorge and at other sites the Trust is seeking to enhance and preserve; to advancing public education and promote research.

We actively work in support of raising issues of social injustice to enable improvements in social justice for all.
