Charities In Dorset

We mainly support charities and organisations using music and the performing arts in a social and therapeutic context, though some grants are made to wider general charitable purposes. Support to individuals is extremely rare.

The object of the trust is to assist financially with the preservation, repair, maintenance and preservation of Christian churches and chapels in Dorset. The trustees decide as a matter of policy from time to time which of those things shall be aided by grants made by them.

Access Dorset is a member led organisation of disabled people, older people, carers and other users of support. In partnership with twenty local organisations we provide a Center for Independent Living providing information, advice, peer support and advocacy. We are currently bringing our website alive with a project that introduces peer support videos and citizen journalism online.

A PRE-SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN AGED 2YRS 6MTHS - 5YRS DURING TERM TIME.

The organisation is a church with Sunday Morning meetings open to all, including activities for children. Midweek small groups for mutual support through prayer, Bible study or activities. Youth activities. Periodic community events. Wellbeing groups are run during the year and are open to all.

we relieve suffering and further animal welfare by promoting the practice, advancement and teaching of veterinary science and we foster public education in animal health and welfare by supporting the university of Bristol school of veterinary science.

FUND RAISING FOR LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL CAUSES.LOCAL ASSISTANCE AS REQUESTED AND FEASIBLE.

The church meets weekly and other times to worship God and for teaching on the Bible. Regular youth work takes place including a camp. The church also looks to help the disadvantaged in the community through the Soul Food programme.

Activities to improve services provided to cancer patients in Dorset, mainly though the Dorset County Hospital eg funding training and further education for staff treating cancer patients, supporting cancer related research projects through financial contributions, purchasing additional equipment used to treat cancer patients, providing a reflexology service to cancer patients.

CONSERVATION OF BIODIVERSITY, PRIMARILY IN EASTERN DORSET.

Provide the Circuit churches with human resources (both Ministerial and Lay), pastoraloversight and care, leadership training and education, administration and coordination, all insupport of the churches promotion of the Christian faith.

The project is working with women in their time of crisis across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole areas. It is currently offering one-to-one support, self-development training, and group community activities to women, helping them rebuild their lives. 85% of beneficiaries are escaping abusive relationships and many have additional mental health support needs. We also run a community cafe.

We offer primarily gymnastics for all and table tennis with summer club offering other activities. Yoga, free running and other activities are also offered.

The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares is a childrens charity based in Bridport, Dorset. We are a creative writing centre for children aged between 7 and 18 years old. We work on the principle that creative writing can change lives, and by creating an environment that allows children to explore the possibilities can have transformative results.

The charity operates within the RC Diocese of Plymouth, which covers Cornwall, Devon and parts of Dorset & in accordance with its core values of love, justice & forgiveness it*Operates an Essential Grant Programme to help families with children in dire need.*Supports families of all faiths and none.*Encourages children to think about the needs of others less fortunate.

The Foundation is a registered charity, number 1174600, governed by the trust deed dated 4th July 2017. The foundation was established in July 2017 with a mission to support local charities/individuals through grants who need donations in order to survive and to provide services within their local community.

The advancement of the Christian Faith through our Sunday services, Connect Groups and outreach opportunities. Our children's church work has grown. We support missions by regularly giving each month to their work. We run a weekly Bible study group . Our discipleship course that we are working through as a church is on being emotionally and spiritually healthy.

A Pre-School offering early years education for 2 - 4 year olds

We provide emotional and practical support to Parents, Carer's and Family members whose child have been affected by childhood sexual abuse. We liken a disclosure irrespective of age to a "bomb going off the shrapnel hitting everyone around" We help build resilience around the trauma. Accessing our support can be by phone, email, text, face to face support in Bournemouth, Poole and Dorchester.

Bournemouth Blind Society operates a Sight & Hearing Resource Centre; Community Support; Befriending Service; Emotional Support; Sight Awareness Training and provides activities for blind and partially sighted people from its centre in Moordown, Bournemouth. The Society also actively works with the hard of hearing. It promotes independent living and encourages members to remain in their own homes.
