The South West Dorset Multicultural Network was set up to establish links across West Dorset, Weymouth and Portland to provide support, information and cultural understanding. We produce a newsletter & arrange a number of social events.The SWDMCN is represented on various strategic steering groups to promote racial harmony & diversity & reduce isolation faced by people from ethnic minorities.

Providing a venue for village activities. WE have a skittle alley, kitchen and licenced bar. We organise some village events - fireworks night, quizzes etc

Run community centre where regular groups and one off bookings hire the hall/use the hall.

Provision and maintainance of village hall, for use of inhabitants of Parishes of Cattistock and Chilfrome

Opportunity for the villages to meet in a fund-raising social and formal atmosphere through Summer Ball, New Year Party, Bingo evenings, donations to local Air Ambulance and Village Green.

We organise charitable events for the benefit of the village.The hall is used for several local groups.

The Dorset Bird Club operate a database of bird records to produce an annual report. Hold a number of outdoor (free) and indoor meetings/events, open to all. Make comment on local planning issues where there are concerns over impacts on Dorset's bird life, in consultation with other conservation bodies. A Conservation Fund is available to make small grants to local projects.

The charity's activities are governed by the trust will dated 31 January 1996. The objects are to support such charitable purposes which shall benefit wholly or mainly the inhabitants of the parish of Symondsbury, Bridport, Dorset as the trustees may in their absolute discretion select.

We look after the running of the Reading Room which is a facility for local groups to use as a meeting room. e.g. Senior citizens' Whist Drive, Pilates classes, Art Club .

FOR THE PURPOSES OF PHYSICAL & MENTAL RECREATION & SOCIAL MORAL & INTERLLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT THOUGH THE MEDIUM OF READING AND RECREATION ROOMS, LIBRARY, LECTURES, CLASSES, RECREATIONS & ENTERTAINMENTS AS MAY BE FOUND EXPEDIENT FOR THE BENIFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF CHURCH KNOWLE AND ITS IMEDIATE VINCINITY WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX OR OF POLITICAL OR OTHER OPINIONS.

The objects are to apply the trust fund at such times and in such a manner to or for the benefit of such exclusively charitable objects or purposes as the trustees in their absolute discretion think fit.

Offering horse-riding to physically and/or mentally disabled children and young adults

The charity activities include but are not limited to: LGBT community members advocacy, LGBT supportive policy advocacy, training & related online and direct educational services, research, information resources creation & dissemination, volunteering, partnering activity to support LGBT and LGBT Allies in counteracting anti-LGBT behaviour & discrimination across Dorset, Wessex & beyond (UK level)
