For persons not in full time employment, over 18 years old. To promote the values of lifelong learning. Form interest groups covering a wide range of topics and activities. Learning is for its own sake, with enjoyment being the prime motive, not qualifications or awards. It is a mutual aid organisation.

Scout & Guide Group Activities include Camping, Cooking, Crafts, Woodcraft, Entertainment and allother things connected with Scouting & Guiding.

The activities of the Charity are detailed in the review of activities and achievements in page 2 of the Financial Statements, and include Christian ministries and the relief of poverty. It only makes grants to persons known to the Trustees, and does not make unsolicited grants.

Craghead Community Association aims to provide activities and events to improve the lives of those living in the Craghead area. They are also able to give advice to those wishing to offer a new activity or service. The Community Association own Craghead Village Hall, which has rooms that can be hired by external organisations with the proceeds supplementing and supporting community activity.

To benefit the residents of Ushaw Moor and its immediate neighbourhood by providing sites and facilities that the community can use to meet together in the interests of social welfare and well being. UMAG currently manages 2 sites: The Hut (a community hall) and the Community Garden.

Northern Chords Festival advances education by promoting and providing opportunities for the appreciation, understanding and enjoyment of the art of music in particular by the provision of a regular festival, public concerts, lectures, tuition and youth engagement programmes.

The charity exists to support and promote scouting within the Seaham and District area by organising a variety of activities.
