RELIEF OF POVERTY

Remembering the Past, Resourcing the Future is an innovative, user-led project to create a web-based community history of 20th century North Tyneside and its surrounding areas, based on the memories of older people. Material collected by RPRF is disseminated to local schools in various forms to support the local history element of the national curriculum.

Our team consists of parent volunteers and staff. Our purpose is to raise funds to enhance the children's leaning environment, to provide additional opportunities for social integration and enrich the curriculum for children of all ages at the school. We have purchased equipment for the school. Examples of our work include discos, summer fun days and coffee afternoons.

The society organises a programme of lectures, field trips and fieldwork. It publishes Durham Archaeological Journal and a series of research reports, and promotes the protection and appreciation of the historic environment.

WE HAVE PROVIDED GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS TO ASSIST THEM WITH EXPENSES WHILE THEY TRAIN TOWARDS ORDINATION TO THE PRIESTHOOD

Amateur Symphony Orchestra providing musical education to members through weekly rehearsals leading to a concert. Minimum of two concerts a year given within our area to members of the public. Additional concerts also given to Schools to encourage school children to play music.

OUR PRINCIPLE AIM IS TO SUPPORT YOUNG PEOPLE WHO WISH TO ENJOY OUTDOOR EDUCATION. WE PROVIDE ACCESS AND SUPPORT FOR THOSE WITH A DISABILITY AND PROVIDE GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS AND SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE PLACES AT DERWENT HILL FOR THOSE EXPERIENCING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP. OUR MAIN SOURCE OF FUNDS IS FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND BURSARIES.

The King's School Tynemouth Limited was a co-educational Independent Day School for children from the age of 4-18years. The independent school is now closed.

Buildings and small garden area for community use

We provide free pet food to food banks and community centres, supporting people facing hardship so they can continue to care for their pets. Our aim is to prevent pet hunger and reduce the need for families to give up beloved animals.

To provide a building for the local community to meet and pursue many and varied opportunities in the field of Education, Leisure, Training, Young People with Disabilities, Spiritualist Church, Sport for Young People, Seniors & Community Clubs including Youth Club, Art, Tai Chi, Aycliffe Day Nursery, Children Art & Craft Workshops & Icing class, dementia friendly building with dementia champions.

The delivery of an efficient and friendly radio service to patients and their family and friends at the University Hospital of North Durham and the raising of self-sufficient funding through Donations and Fund-Raising activities.

Provides opportunities to commemorate Hindu religious and cultural activities for the Bengali Hindu community in North East England and other interested people.

Raising funds for equipment for school/pupils use.

Raising of funds through functions, sponsorship and donations to provide facilities, activities and equipment both educational and social to Young People/children with special needs and disabilities attending Durham Trinity School.

COMMUNITY BUILDING USED FOR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES SUCH AS CUBS, SCOUTS, YOUTH GROUPS, PENSIONERS GROUPS, CHURCH ACTIVITIES, SOCIAL EVENTS AND PARTIES ETC.ALSO USED FOR FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND SURROUNDING AREAS.

RAFA Newcastle & Gateshead Branch 0370 meet the 1st Monday of the month's from February to December for social gathering of it's membership. The Branch is active in raising funds, via authorised Local Authority street collections, in store etc. for the Association's Annual Wings Appeal. Also carries out Welfare/Social visits on behalf of RAFA and the RAF Benevolent Fund for defined groups.

Provision of facilities for recreation by arranging regular walks of around 6 miles
