Our mission is to work towards long term change by challenging attitudes and behaviour, educating and supporting to strengthen communities of County Durham and Darlington. Our aims are to develop proactive projects to meet needs, increase positive perception of young people and inspire community confidence.

The church operates from premises at Hetton Road, Houghton Le Spring, Tyne & Wear. Church membership is voluntary and free. Christchurch Durham is an Evangelical church in the centre of Durham which serves a mix of families, young professionals and students. CDT currently runs a childcare centre, a family centre and is a landlord of three properties in Craghead offering reasonable rents to their local tenants.

Highlights is a network of 65 volunteer groups in isolated rural communities in Cumbria, Northumberland and County Durham. In partnership we organise - and subsidise - over 150 high quality professional cultural events per year in village halls, schools and community centres

Anxious Minds is a charity dedicated to providing comprehensive support for individuals in the North East. To improve the life experience and skills of 100 disabled people each year aged 4 to 30 years living in the Durham City and Chester le Street area by providing supported access to mainstream leisure and social activities within the community on a regular ongoing basis.

We work to create equality of opportunity in arts and culture for disabled people in the North East of England. We do this by supporting and promoting the work of disabled artists, by enabling and facilitating disabled people to access all aspects of the arts, by assisting cultural venues to become inclusive and by presenting a programme of arts and cultural activity.

To provide refuge accommodation and outreach support to relieve distress and suffering experienced by women and children living in and around the area of Wear Valley, who have been physically sexually or emotionally abused (domestic abuse).

To promote community participation in healthy recreation, in particular by the provision of facilities for exercise, competition and recreation on the water and on land, safely, and by the provision of encouragement and instruction in the sport of rowing, for the benefit of the inhabitants of Newcastle upon Tyne and surrounding areas.

Triangular was initially set up in 2014 as a community group. As the number of beneficiaries grew and the work expanded, the trustees decided to incorporate the organisation in 2018 for more accountability and transparency. The object of the CIO is to advance the education and training of those granted refugee status, seeking asylum, recent migrants and their dependents.

The St Margaret?s Centre supports adults of all ages with mental health issues and other disabilities. It provides a welcoming therapeutic environment which encourages individuals to gain self esteem-confidence, learn new skills and to develop their potential .The overall aim is to improve the quality of their lives in as many ways as possible.

To benefit the inhabitants of Coxhoe and the surrounding areas, to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents. To establish and secure the establishment of a leisure centre for activities promoted by the charity in furtherance of the above objects.

We work with migrant people in the North East of England, especially Sunderland. We focus on those with limited access to information and support network, including migrants and refugee and the Eastern European community. We came to being in 2009 and have now converted to a CIO. The Unicorn Centre is a member group of the national charity Riding for the Disabled Association providing riding therapy and learning opportunities for disabled children and adults in the Tees Valley area. Our aim is to provide riding for people with disabilities in an inclusive, safe and supportive environment that will allow each individual to achieve their full potential.
