For over thirty years we have acted as a watchdog on all developments in the town. Our principal task is to monitor proposals which might impact on the historic core and traditions of Howden. We aim to stimulate public interest, promote high standards of planning and architecture and secure the preservation, protection, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest.

To apply its income for the relief of need amongst clergy who are resident in the Diocese of York or who have served in the Diocese of York for at least 10 years.

THE CHARITY'S PRINCIPAL ACTIVITY CONTINUES TO BE THAT OF PROVIDING A VILLAGE HALL FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE PARISH OF BROOMFLEET

General Charitable activities. Main activity is letting to numerous organisations and charging rent. All local Church social activities are held in the Village Hall - it is the focal point of the Village and various meetings of many organisations are held there, eg. Church, Social functions, Parish Council, WI, Neighbourhood Watch. Other lettings to the following organisations include, Tai Chi,

Subsidises educational visits and visits to the school by travelling theatre groups and sports coaches. Buys extras, e.g. books, for the school.

Running and maintaining the village hall for the benefit of the people of Etton to provide a meeting place for a range of community, social and recreational activities appropriate for a small village.

Donations from Lodge members and fund raising.

Building for the benefit of the inhabitants of Ottringham and surrounding area for use as a place of recreation and village institute.

To provide support for the communities of East Yorkshire especially young people.

Payment of grants to retired priests and deacons

Provides much needed holidays for patients at subsidised cost at our two luxury caravans.Hold socials and events.Hold meetings regularly to provide patient information and give mutual support.Promote the organ donor scheme and other renal events.Fundraise to buy necessary equipment for the renal unit.Producea newsletter, mail to patients and renal staff.Provide a telephone helpline.
