The prevention or relief of poverty anywhere in the world by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self sufficient.

We are the Friends of Hailsham Old Pavilion set up to fundraise & support this renovated cinema/theatre in Hailsham Town Centre. Our active fundraising programme has a fundraising event most months of the year. We hold events including Quiz Evenings, Film Showings, Open Garden, Coffee Morning. We run a stand during April/May selling ice cream, locally made items etc. at Bates Green Farm.

To protect, update and repair for the future the property of the Queens Royal Hussars Collection, and to maintain and run three museums to display it.

Provide and maintain a village hall for the inhabitants of Rye Harbour and the neighbourhood.

Encouraging understanding and involvement in music in the community

We are a school PTA raising money and having fun at the same time for our school children. We hold events such as quiz nights, firework parties, summer fairs and discos.

To advance education in all aspects of the creative arts, in particular, but not exclusively, by running an annual open access arts and culture festival in the town of Hailsham for public benefit. To enrich the lives of residents in Hailsham and the surrounding area by the promotion and encouragement of all forms of art.

We provide grants to registered charitable and not for profit organisations where a small amount will make a big difference. Based in Brighton, it is our intention to prioritise local, smaller community causes within Sussex.

To advance the education of the pupils of the school by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school (not normally provided by the Local Education Authority) and as an ancillary thereto.

Religious activities; community work; working with other denominations; working with other churches in the Region; music ministries; fundraising and socials; children's work; training students; local awareness of issues such as AIDS/HIV; pastoral care.

Grant Making

The Aim of the Sea Cadet Corps is to help young people towards responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct, using a nautical theme based on the customs of the Royal Navy.

To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare in the local community. To advance education. To relieve sickness and the preservation of good health.

The operation and maintenance of a village hall

Developing and efficiently managing the hall and grounds for the benefit of residents of Hamsey parish, with particular emphasis on meeting the needs of children, young people, older and more vulnerable people. Initiating and responding to ideas which practically support social, arts, cultural and physical activities. Promoting the use of sustainable and renewable energy and materials.

The village hall is used for a variety of social events by clubs and associations and private use. The trustees organize a range of events including exhibitions, social and theatre evenings and supper events. the annual flower show and monthly markets. The PCC also hosts community events and activities. The hall is used from time to time by local businesses and Wealden DC.

The Chichester Symphony Orchestra usually performs 3 concerts a year, one in Spring, the Festivities concert in July, and another late autumn/winter concert. The orchestra has also collaborated with other local musical societies including the St Richard Singers and The Chichester Amateur Operatic Society.

Polegate School PFA is a charity that raises money to enhance and expand the education of the pupils at Polegate school. Normally the PFA hold various events during the year with the bigger ones like the Christmas extravaganza/fireworks as well as quiz nights and second hand uniform sales

The object of the Band is to promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in and appreciation of the art and science of music in particular brass band music by the presentation of public concerts and recitals and by such other ways as the Band through its Committee shall determine from time to time.

Promotes the interests of inhabitants of the North Laine Area of Brighton by working with the local authority, police & other voluntary groups. Residents with a concern can raise it at one of our monthly meetings or in our newsletter, the Runner. At meetings, in the Runner and on our web site, useful information such as local history or forthcoming social events of the association is given.

Donated tools and sewing machines etc are refurbished by volunteers, so contributing to a green environment with nothing sent to landfill. Crucially this equipment is passed to organisations creating sustainable businesses in the poorest parts of the world so improving livelihoods. Our Workshop became a charity in 2023 after 5 years of operation.

To foster interest in the Church and to cooperate with the PCC in the preservation and improvement of the fabric, furniture,stained glass and monuments of the church and its churchyard, which may include reasonable contributions to the everyday running costs of the church and churchyard and in furthering any other scheme or project to help in maintaining their safety, beauty and utility.

SEKPA is a Registered Charity formed in 1980 to help Kidney Patients in East and West Sussex, from Littlehampton to Rye on the South Coast, to Horsham and East Grinstead inland.Patients are treated at the Sussex Kidney Unit, Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton and at its satellite Dialysis Units at Bexhill, Eastbourne, Worthing and Crawley. Some patients can also carry out treatment at home.
