Small village hall run for the benefit of the local community of Blackham.

The Ben McNicol Trust raises funds to support the ongoing use of it's property 'Ben's House' for children undergoing cancer treatment. The accommodation is located near to a specialist children's cancer hospital (the Royal Marsden Sutton). We are involved in various fundraising projects in order to achieve this goal. RAISING FUNDS FOR ST PHILIPS RC PRIMARY SCHOOL

The Society was founded to encourage the knowledge and study of history within Battle and the surrounding area. This is achieved through a programme of illustrated lectures by specialists in their subjects and the publication of books and journals that are relevant to the local history of Battle.

OPERATIONS ARE LARGELY OF A FUNDRAISING NATURE, WITH EVENTS ORGANISED FOR THE SCHOLCHILDREN OF PLUMPTON SCHOOL, THEIR PARENTS, THE STAFF AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. TYPICAL EVENTS INCLUDE VILLAGE JUMBLE SALES, A CHRISTMAS FAYRE, A SPRING BALL, AN END-OF-TERM BARBECUE, AFTER-SCHOOL SWIMMING CLUBS, AFTER-SCHOOL ENTERTAINMENT CLUBS, QUIZZES, SCHOOL CALENDARS, AND AD-HOC EVENTS.
