Local run small playgroup in church hall with trained staff running 4 morning sessions and two afternoon session for pre school children. Registered as charity to be able to raise funds for group to purchase update equipment and toys for the children of group.High ratio of staff to children maintained. Needs of children put first.

Karibu provides its members and the public with information, advice and support, dealing with family; isolation; health and well being; and education. We are the hub of the local African community, dealing with ethnic and cultural diversity. Members meet once a month, ensuring the enhancement of social inclusion. The charity runs the Knights Way Community Centre in Knights Way on the East Ham Estate in Brentwood.The aim is that the Community Centre should act as a hub in the community providing services for children, young people and older residents, and as a place that people can hire for private use and businesses and individuals can hire to provide services to the community.
