We assist asylum-seekers and refugees and new members of our community, offering advice and support and signposting them to appropriate services; and liaise with local community and statutory organisations and are active in night shelters and the Southend Homeless Action Network. At the same time, CAST is an activist organisation that challenges existing structures.

ECCO is an environmental charity that recycles and reuses materials such as clothing, furniture, electrical items, household items and offers them back to the general public at low cost. ECCO has 3 reuse shops in Essex and East Herts and collects from West Essex, East Herts and North London.ECCO also collects and recycles domestic batteries.ECCO manages Parndon Wood Nature Reserve.

Uniting Friends is a social inclusion project for adults with learning disabilities

To advance the education of students aged 7 to 19, being students who are the victims of bullying, or by reason of other emotional trauma or illness, are for the time being unable to attend mainstream school, providing them with an academic, pastoral and therapeutic educational programme in a safe learning environment.

Care of the elderly by way of and including the provision of care homes

CVST provides support for the community and organisations through a wide range of services such as community development activities, information, advice, training, grant giving, accommodation, events and a newsletter. CVST acts as a strategic partner and facilitates representation of the sector, encourages liaison between groups and develops new services to meet identified gaps.

EBGC is an umbrella youth organisation providing activities, events, training, and support for affiliated clubs and their young people so as to enable them to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capabilities through purposeful leisure time activities so that they can have a positive influence on society.

Arboretum and Gardens open to the public with extensive woodland and arable farmland. In pursuit of the Trust's charitable objects the property is managed with due regard for nature conservation, landscape, historic interest and heritage, recreation, and as a scientific and educational resource

- Preventing cruelty to animals and promoting their care and protection and welfare.- Rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of animals in need.-Providing veterinary welfare assistance to owned animals, for owners on low incomes.- Promoting neutering and microchipping to reduce the number of unwanted animals.- Educating the public about animal welfare and encouraging good practices.

To support the moral component of HM Armed Forces, particularly through the operation of amenity centres in or near military bases in the UK and overseas. To support veteran Armed Forces personnel and their dependants, usually through sheltered housing. To support the CofE in the delivery of its spiritual and charitable objectives across Defence.

We are a charity that supports young people who are at risk of exclusion or becoming part of the criminal justice system. We engage with young people through leisure, sports, art, heritage and cultural activities. We use a community asset based approach to support not only the young person and their family but also to build resilience within the wider community at the same time.
