Welcome to Badminton promotes equality, tolerance, open mindedness and a culture of sharing skills. We bring refugees, asylum seekers and migrants together from the city centre and the wider region to learn/play sports (primarily badminton, volleyball and table tennis). We aim to help promote a healthy lifestyle, reduce loneliness and isolation and help people to manage stress and anxiety.

We are working in Partnership with Iraqi universities and UK universities to provide knowledge and expertise to change outcomes for children in Iraq. We are focusing on education, social emotional well being, disabilities and trauma.

The Trust is concerned to see the advancement of the Christian Religion by the ministry of the clergy and other members of Jesmond Parish Church in and beyond the parish of Jesmond. It aims to provide accommodation for curates of Jesmond Parish Church and other Christian workers. It makes payments to facilitate Christian work on Tyneside and beyond, and enables charitable giving to mission work.

To advance the education of pupils and other users of Oakfield College by providing or assisting in the provision of educational and community facilities and services.

The provision of Almshouse accommodation in the Gateshead area

Influencing/Commissioning the development and management of Exhibition and Brandling Parks in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Chritian church activities

Provides facilities for healthy recreation and education particularly but not exclusively for water-based activity

The Newcastle Philosophy Society runs a number of regular events including lectures and conversation groups. The Newcastle Philosophy Society also works in conjunction with other local organisations to run one-off events including lectures and conversation groups. We have finances available for others wishing to pursue the running of such events.

A full year of social initiatives in partnership with North East churches as part of the national "Hope 08" initiative. The Just 10 series, based on the Ten Commandments, with Canon J John of the Philo Trust took place in Gateshead and Stockton on Tees with more than 88,000 people attending over 10 weeks.

Other charitable purposes

The charity has been set up in preparation for a transfer of assets of a community centre and land from Newcastle City Council as part of their divestment policy. The Charity is currently dormant awaiting Council decisions on the terms of that transfer.The Community Centre is currently managed by our charity Westerhope and District Community Association registered charity number 1044378.

General

To care for, educate and enhance the life skills and life experiences, within the community, of adults with a learning disablity.To relieve the needs of such adults by providing education, information and advice to the public on the ways in which they may be supported to take their place in society, and by providing information on implementing and sharing best supporting practice.

Gateshead Redheugh 1957 runs 24 teams. The range of club activites has expanded to cater for user groups who have approached the club to use the facilities. The club also works with vulnerable and homeless young people through Changing Lives. We also work with a drugs and alochol recovery team and also help Gateshead Council run a mens health and nutrition group for healthy living

Fund raising for the benefit of students in the College. A forum for information for parents and prospective parents.

The Trust facilitates the advancement of the Christian religion for the public benefit. It provides and maintains gospel halls where religious meetings are held including the carrying on of the service of God, and it facilitates the distribution of Christian literature and engagement with the wider community and other charitable organisations.

To promote understanding, good will, and equity between people of different faiths, cultures and communities - particularly through education, community cohesion, the celebration of diversity and co-operation with other groups and organisations within the faith, community, voluntary, statutory and private sectors.

HCVA undertakes mission and evangelism in the UK and overseas through outreach work, Christian meetings and conferences, television ministry, and practical aid to orphans and missionaries.

We make grants to charities, institutions and needy individuals to assist in life cycle events, e.g. those needing financial assistance upon a birth or significant illness, those needing assistance to qualify or be equipped for a trade or profession or to assist in support for those suffering persecution and harassment. Our operation is predominantly in the UK.
