WE RUN A YOUTH CLUB FOR BLIND AND SIGHT IMPAIRED CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS. WE MEET EVERY FRIDAY EVENING WHERE THE CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS CAN SOCIALISE WE ALSO TAKE THEN FOR DAYS OUT AND HOLIDAYS. WE HAVE OUR OWN MINI BUS WHICH COLLECTS THE CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS FROM THEIR HOMES AND RETURNS THEM, THE MINI BUS IS ALSO USED TO TAKE THE YOUNG ADULTS AND CHILDREN FOR DAYS OUT AND HOLIDAYS

We run a monthly support group in Teesside for anyone affected by the death of a baby, lead by trained peer supporters (all of whom have experienced the death of a baby themselves). We also provide support via email and social media. We work with healthcare professionals, to improve understanding and support given and also to provide education through training to improve bereavement care.

During the pandemic and the ensuing months our activities were necessarily limited. We did make up mouth care packs consisting of toothbrushes, toothpaste, and information about head and neck cancer. These were distributed to food banks in local areas. Thanks to helpers in Stockton and Darlington.We are now beginning the process of strengthening the charity with some new trustees and supporters

Promotion of Model Railway modelling and related activities and skills

Meetings are held on a regular basis throughout the year. The programme throughout the year included talks, meetings and visits. Socially throughout the year members have organised interclub nights and a summer do. Involvement in the local community has entailed carol singing and the Grand Draw and Whist Drive at Christmas and also promoting YFC.

We help injured, abused or neglected small birds & animals by arranging shelter,food & medical care in liaison with our own & other Volunteer & Community Groups.We hold fundraising events & receive public donations & support from animal welfare, pet & retail organisations.Our advice service gives bird and animal First Aid advice to the public and signposts other best placed specialist charities.

Hospital radio station broadcasting to the patients, visitors and staff of the University Hospitals of North Tees & Hartlepool.

North East Mission aims to see an end to homelessness in the North East.Currently NEM runs Durham Winter Night Shelter.

Institute of Advanced Motorists affiliated group promoting road safety by providing information and advice fostering advanced motorcycle riding skills in the North East of England.

Support the development of life skills and enhance development opportunites for the 11-19 year age in the Durham Tees valley area including advancing education, relieving unemployment and providing recreational leisure time activities in the interests of social welfare.Provide schloarships to deprived students overseas to enable them to study in the UK.Alleviate poverty in 3rd world countries.

Regular monthly meetings at which expert military historians give lectures on the Great War 1914-1919, with particular reference, though not limited to, the Western Front.Provides advice on the methodology of, and research into individual participants, Units and Actions.Provides public information through attendance at schools, exhibitions etc.

Rescue & Rehoming of Old English Sheepdogs in the North East & Cumbria area.

Provision of activities and events for individuals over 18 with mental ill health and social anxiety issuesto engage and socialise with individuals with similar issues. Social inclusion and engagement with like-minded people are our main objectives. We offer peer-to-peer support and signpost to professional help. Our volunteers engage the wider community offering support where needed.

PROVIDING DIETARY & ORAL HEALTH EDUCATION SESSIONS FOR CHILDREN AGED PRE-SCHOOL TO THE AGE OF 11. THE SESSIONS WILL COVER UNDERSTANDING THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD DENTAL HEALTH; EDUCATING CHILDREN ON WHAT CAUSES TOOTH DECAY; ENCOURAGING DAILY DENTAL CARE. THE SESSIONS WILL USE A MIX OF GAMES, COLOURING SHEETS, LEARNING DENTAL HEALTH VOCABULARY, DISCUSSING FOODS AND CAUSES OF DENTAL DECAY.

AWD Response North East is a Charitable organisation that provides emergency services during extreme weather conditions. They are dedicated to helping people who are stranded, delivering food and water to remote areas, and assisting with road closures. Their service is free, and they prioritize those who are in the greatest need of assistance.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

We are all volunteers who exist to encourage the public to learn about & use the Victorian Ward Jackson Park in Hartlepool.
