Newington Green Action Group is an all-volunteer, grassroots charity. We have been around for more than 20 years. We played a big role in reviving Newington Green but as the area has changed, so has our focus.We are now prioritising our community cohesion work and concentrating on making Newington Green a good place to live for all - especially our most vulnerable residents.

The charity ceased to operate in June 2017. Prior to closure, it?s purpose was to meet the ssocial and recreational needs of Islington Youth, open to all 11-16 year olds regardless of race, religion or gender. It aimed to enable young people to fulfil their full potential, and to foster mutual kindness and respect, in a safe environment, under fully-trained youth leaders.

Bible Studies:This is open to the general public and at the short meetings, the word of God are shared. The Bible is explained in more details and the beneficiaries have the opportunity to ask any question that they need clarifications about.It gives the people a local Church where they could be inspired through Bible teaching and a medium that could create a meeting point for socialisation

We campaign on behalf of pensioners. Give advice through our monthly newsletter, have monthly town hall meetings with prominent speakers on wide subjects, organise day trips, participate in other events such as fund raising for worthy causes, signpost to older people's services, and also campaign in support of the National Pensioners Convention.

We are a Christian church organisation based in Islington with branches in Spain and Ghana, with membership open to the public. Our charity activities include, equipping members with the knowledge of Christ and nurture them in the Christian way of life, evangelise to win souls for Christ. We collect and supply second hand clothing and other items for the poor and needy in Ghana. We have a feeding

This is a local charity for the relief of individuals in need in parts of Finsbury, London EC1 and EC2. It derives from bequests by former parishioners of St. Luke's Church Old Street and its former daughter parishes.Grants are conditional on residence in the closely defined area of benefit which does not extend west of St. John St, north of City Rd, nor east of Paul St.

The organisation mainly, but not exclusively, supports ethnic and black minority children to help improve their educational attainment. We work with the Islington Regeneration Department and several schools in the borough, running Supplementary Schools and Homework Clubs. In addition, we provide ESOL, ICT, learning resources, and volunteering opportunities to young people and parents.

Broaden Out Their Horizons is an educational charity which aims to organise and fund reciprocal exchange visits between schools in the UK and their global partners.

Provide information, guidance, signposting and referals of clients including unemployed, those facing language barriers and hardship in areas of welfare benefits, housing, employment, health and education. Provide escort, leisure time occupation, interpreting and translation services on behalf of clients.

Study, prayer and spiritual healing

As a self help disability group, we aim to bring disabled youth and adults of most excluded communities out of isolation and offer them a new healthy and competitive lifestyle providing training on wheelchairs and advising how to join competitive levels ie wheelchair Basketball League. We are based in Hackney and cover mostly East, North and Central London, but welcome everyone from anywhere else.
