To provide and maintain facilities at Skelmanthorpe Community Centre for recreation and leisure time activities for inhabitants of Skelmanthorpe and the surrounding area in the interest of social welfare and to improve their conditions of life. To help young people develop their physical and mental capacities that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society.

We encourage active lives in Huddersfield through mental stimulation and recreational activities for retired people and those with physical difficulties.

Our aim is to provide free, enjoyable, safe and therapeutic canal boat trips for those in our community who are disadvantaged through physical or mental disabilities, social isolation, age or social deprivation. Travelling in canal time provides a calming experience for our passengers. Supported by the Canal & River Trust, we also help to maintain our local waterways and surrounding environment.

Sport and recreation

The Slaithwaite Civic Hall Trust maintains and manages Slaithwaite Civic Hall for the benefit of the community of Slaithwaite and the wider surrounding area. Rooms are available for hire include a theatre style hall with stage and capacity for 250, a large meeting room, a number of smaller rooms and offices. The Trust also promotes performing and visual arts.

Encourages community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for the playing of rugby league and other sports capable of improving health.

To acquire and run Birstall Community Centre in an effort to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation, ensuring that the building is maintained on behalf of the residents of Birstall and to use any surpluses for the benefit of the Birstall community.

The purposes and aims of the charity are to advance education for the public benefit by promotion of the arts, in particular, the art of drama.

The group seeks to progress the advancement of education in all it's formats, to children, young people and adults, in particular, those of African-Caribbean heritage but not exclusively, This is done through a number of activities, to include performing arts and through the development of programmes in response to identified needs as well as empowering, providing skills and necessary knowledge

The charity's principal activity was to relieve the charitable needs of and promote and project the good health of persons who are spinal cord injured and have been a patient at the Yorkshire Regional Spinal Injuries Centre.

The Charity operates a Mosque and Maddressah. 5 daily prayers takes place daily and the Maddressah classes (supplementary school) operates from 5pm to 7.30pm Monday to Friday for children above the age of 5.

To relieve sickness and protect health by the provision of transport of urgently needed blood, drugs, human tissues and other medical requirements between hospitals and blood transfusion banks primarily but not exclusively in Yorkshire.

The Waring Green Community Centre provide rooms for local groups who participate in various activities including:dancing,keep fit,table tennis;badminton;crafts;arts;history;drama;singing;languages.

Provides a community building that can be hired by local user groups. It is currently housing the Royal Voluntary Service who carry out a variety of community based projects in and around the Batley area.

Development of music in our home area through concerts and related activities

Teaching Scottish Country Dancing to adults and children through weekly classes;organising Day Schools and Weekend Schools to further this aim. Encouraging social contact, fun and fitness through dance with regular social dances with live music, and an annual outdoor Scottish Country Dance festival, the White Rose Festival.

20 20 Foundation Trust provides facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure time occupation with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the residents of Dewsbury, including Ravensthorpe, Scout Hill and Kirklees .

We are a 100% volunteer run Charity based in Halifax. We distribute equipment and other essential items to vulnerable and disadvantaged families throughout Calderdale and surrounding areas. The majority of our items are donated by the general public. Our service is free to use and accessed through a third party referral system.
