To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Kirkburton and Highburton and the neighbourhood without distinction of sex or of political, religious or other opinions by associating the local authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation

To support locally based projects where mission is the keynote of church life. To encourage congregational growth, initiatives to attract and retain young people and community outreach projects. To support initiatives which encourage working across parish boundaries and environmental & "green" community issues. Including funding for gap year students or pastoral assistants.

The group takes part in scouting activities organised by District County and National eg Camps, trips abroad. Awards and badges are gained. The group is run for the good of the young people in accordance with the Scout Association POR.

Retail and supply of Christian resources

The Charity provides welfare aid, social activities and trips to members who are or have been members of the Forces and who are resident in Huddersfield or its vacinity.

SWAP Rehabilitation and Resettlement assists potentially homeless prison leavers and homeless offenders referred by Probation and Police Prolific Offender Team.Our Change of Lifestyle Program, addressing mental health and drugs/alcohol addiction, assists the transition from prison to successful community living. Our education projects are helping those with little/no education to build confidence.

The charity's aims are to preserve and protect the health of newborn babies by providing or assisting in the provision of neonatal equipment and transport equipment.

THE TRUSTEES MANAGE 8 BUNGALOWS WHICH ARE FOR THE OVER 60'S WHO LIVE IN THE PARISH'S OF WOODHOUSE & BRADLEY OR HAVE CONNECTIONS WITH THEM.

We provide support to households in need in the Colne Valley and Golcar by the provision of food and essential household items. We do this at 2 weekly sessions that are held in Slaithwaite and Golcar.

The supply of Musical Education in the art of Choral Singing to any interested parties.

Holmbridge Pre-school offers a caring, safe, stimulating enviroment for the growing needs of children aged 2 to 5 years old.

The Third Age provides friendly informal classes to the public. This year there have been 34 classes held in the Dewsbury District. Since the classes are held during the day most of the members are retired or part time workers.

Supports Charitable Groups within the old County Borough of Huddersfield or immediate neighbourhood whose members are sick, convalescent, disabled, hadicapped or infirm, etc

Promotion of orchestras and other musical groups in the Kirklees area in order to promote the study, practice and performance of musical works by way of concerts and other methods of performance.

Self-help groups providing learning activities for retired and partially retired members

A Charitable Incorporated Organisation which exists and acts for the benefit of the local community, in particular owning and managing a Community Centre for the use of local people and others.

Funeral and related Services

The charity is charged with maintaining the Drill Hall in Huddersfield & supporting military units within it and the local area.

On receipt and consideration of suitable applications, it will make grants to charitableorganisations operating in Africa, such as Butoke (www.butoke.org) , a NGO operating in theDemocratic Republic of the Congo ("DRC").

Holme Valley Climate Action (HVCAP) is a not-for-profit, independent, community business, created in 2020 by local people as a registered charity, a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) reference 1109733. Our intention is to support local organisations in carrying out climate actions, to help reduce carbon emissions, with the aim of the Holme Valley becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
