LONGRIDGE HERITAGE CENTRE TRUST COLLECTS, PRESERVES AND DISPLAYS ARTEFACTS, DOCUMENTS AND PHOTOGRAPHS RELATING TO THE LONGRIDGE AREA. THESE ITEMS HAVE BEEN DONATED BY THE LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY AND RESIDENTS. THE TRUST OPERATES FROM A FREE ADMISSION HERITAGE CENTRE, BASED AT THE OLD RAILWAY STATION, AND ORGANISES A REGULAR PROGRAMME OF TALKS, EXHIBITIONS AND EVENTS FOR THE PUBLIC.

The trust provides financial support for Christian persons and organisations working to relieve poverty and its effects in the UK and worldwide.

The charity is the Broughton Womens Institute which meets monthly in the hall, Whittingham Lane, Broughton. We pay speakers out of our funds to inform and entertain our members on a variety of subjects. Tea and coffee is provided.

The Friends of St John's Churchyard is an independent community group formed in 2005 to promote the restoration, preservation, development and conservation of St John's Churchyard, Great Marsden, Nelson, Lancashire. In addition, the group aims to encourage public involvement and an understanding of the history and heritage of the churchyard.

Donations to local food banks will be targeted to those active in Oswaldtwistle and may include other similar charitable organisations in Hyndburn assuming that new sources of funding are found. .
