GirlGuiding is the UKs leading charity for girls and young women. This local chapter of the charity supports Girlguiding units in Lancaster, Garstang and surrounding Lancashire villages. The Division jointly owns, with Morecambe Division (Reg Charity No 1025226), Silver Sapling campsite, Silverdale as a camping and outdoor activity facility available to local units and those in the wider area.

The trust continues to finance homoepathic and alternative medical treatment for terminally ill and incurable patients. A clinic employing a qualified homoepathic practitioner was run throughout the year and free treatment was given to deserving cases.

The objects of the charitable company are to promote the objects of the Riding For The Disabled Association incorporating Carriage Driving, a charity registered under Charity Number 244108. ('RDA') by providing disabled people the opportunity to ride and / or to carriage drive to benefit their health and well-being in the Banks, West Lanchashire area.

Provides support for the maintenance of St. James Church Westhead and churchyard and provides support for recreational and educational activities in the Westhead area.

To relieve the needs of persons suffering from pulmonary fibrosis, primarily, but not exclusively, in the Morecambe Bay area by raising awareness of the lung disease pulmonary fibrosis and to support group activities.

The charity continues to manage the assets of the Lady Lathom Endowment and Memorial Fund, the purpose of which is the relief of poverty and sickness relating to the elderly residents of the Parish of Lathom.

The object of the charity is to provide the advancement of education in music and subjects related thereto, of members of the orchestra and others. In order to achieve these objectives the charity holds fund raising activities of all kinds, sponsor concerts, rehearsals and courses, award prizes, bursaries and scholarships, assist in the provision of facilities, musical instruments and equipment.

WOMENS INSTITUTE

Providing financial support to the benefit of the most deserving and necessitous inhabitants of the parish of Chipping, mainly the elderly & widowed.

Preston Nightstop used to recruit and train volunteers to provide emergency accommodation in their own home for homeless young people aged between of sixteen to twenty five. The charity no longer provides accommodation to young people through the provision of a supported lodgings scheme.

The charity collects its investment income and distributes monies to charities and institution in accordance with its objects.

To provide and help disabled persons to have a day out angling in a comfortable place.
