Church facilities for general public.

Provide social and education activities for our Members. Also, local groups and charities are supported. Help and support is also given to local village activities.

Provision of an Emergency Pre-Hospital Immediate Medical Care Service at the request of North West Ambulance Service. The Charity raises money to buy equipment & pay for training for doctors in the Northwest of the UK (Cumbria, Lancashire & North Cheshire) to enable them to volunteer their services to this aim as well as coordinating their governance & training.

The charity receives donations from Maccabee Lodge, a masonic lodge, members and also raises funds by activities of all members of Maccabee Lodge. Donations are made to charitable/voluntary organisations.

tO ADVANCE EDUCATION BY PROVIDING ONCE IN EACH YEAR A MONEY GRANT TO OR FOR THE STUDENT AGED UNDER 25 YEARS WHO HAS ATTENDED DURING THAT YEAR A COURSE AT THE COLLEGE IN AN INDUSTRIAL OR COMMERCIAL SUBJECT AND WHO IS IN THE OPINION OF THE PRIZE TRUSTEES MOST WORTHY OF THE ASSISTANCE BY REASON OF HIS OR HER WORK OR MERIT

Performing arts activities including Dance and Colour Guard for young people in the Preston and District area.

Advancement of the Christian religion for the benefit of the public, through the holding of prayer meetings, lectures, producing or distributing literature, on the teachings of Jesus Christ and such other ways as the trustees may determine. The promotion of equality and diversity of all, especially Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender people for the public benefit.

In the interests of the protection and conservation of the environment of Merseyside and the promotion of wider sustainability issues, MET engages in the following activities: organising events, meetings, educational opportunities, fundraising, awarding grants, provision of knowledge and expertise and working in partnership with other organisations.

ACTIVIES FOR YEAR 07/08 INCLUDED FLY TYING COURSE AND PLANTING OF A FRUIT AND NUT HEDGE TO PROVIDE A WILD-LIFE HABITAT AND ALSO A WILLOW ARBOUR BENCH FOR PEOPLE TO ENJOY. WE HAVE ALSO BEEN WORKING ON WALKING LEAFLETS TO PROVIDE BOTH LOCALS AND VISITORS WITH CIRCULAR ROUTES THEY MAY WISH TO TAKE THROUGH OUR COUNTRYSIDE. WE ALSO HELD A BREATHING PLACES OPEN DAY AND TOOK PART IN THE VILLAGE GALA DAY

Provision of Village Hall for community use.

The object of the charity are for the benefit of children in Downham and Turnton together with the upkeep of St. Leonards Church, Downham.

To support the activity of bell ringing at SS Peter and Paul, Parish Church, Ormskirk. Expenditure can be made on the bells and bell frame maintenance, bell ropes, ringing chamber requirements, supporting the teaching of bell ringing.

In Morecambe To: 1.acquire finance/maintain/repair/secure for the public benefit the sculpture Venus & Cupid and other public art works/projects; 2. purchase/commission public art works/projects/events; 3. facilitate education in the arts and associated skills and the development of artistic skills among unemployed or socially and economically disadvantaged young people, by local fundraising.

The Charity aims to enhance the environment within the Yarrow catchment and provide educational opportunities to the public and local schools through obtaining finance for and implementing individual projects on the river Yarrow and it's tributaries (e.g. provision of fish passes), monitoring water quality, arranging guided walks for members and presentations to local schools.

The income and property of the charity shall exist for the purpose of advancing the education of the students by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for the education of students at the school and not normally provided from the delegated budget.
